From some of the stories I've heard, you broke that mold. Happy Birthday!

Well I was able to get the movement I needed to lock down the dizzy and it is set at 10 degrees but that is it. Zedhead I'll look into your suggestion. Thanks all.

You know Jai I've had a few tall dogs and most likely I'm wrong about that. Anyway spring or fall I'm still a fan of grilling. All these other goofballs call it barbecuing. Barbecue is a noun down here Thank you for noticing my pretty backdrop. I love Alabama but not the politics. Peace out...
  4. Looks terrific.
  5. Seen in Tokyo earlier this year.
  6. To answer some of your questions directly... The initial mechanical setting of the float level is just to get into the ballpark. The sight glass is the real test. The desired level does depend on the carb design though. What year are you working on? 73 or 74? Can you post a pic or two of the power valves? That's another easy way to know for sure. However, without even seeing the carbs, I suspect the fuel level should be right at the dot in the middle of the window and your level is way too high. Tips for cracking the power valve open? Not really. The gaskets hold tight and can make it difficult to separate the wafer stack. Other than brute force, I don't have any suggestions. And testing the carb off the car? I don't have any way to do that. If it was running great one day, and then the next day it wouldn't start at all, I'm not convinced that it was a carb problem in the beginning. But now that you've opened them up and let the magic out, there might be one now. Did you try starting it by holding your foot down a little on the pedal while you cranked it?
  7. I solved the problem, the ignition module that I bought from the rock auto went bad. I took an old one from a donor distributor and it started right up.
  8. Pumps are actually getting cheaper. The zcardepot pump picture looks like an Airtex. They used to cost ~$99. You should post the actual links. The pictures aren't worth too much for figuring out value. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1977,280z,2.8l+l6,1209248,fuel+&+air,fuel+pump,6256
  9. I bought new door cards from Zcardepot that were black and painted them white with SEM paint and they turned out great. Taped off the chrome trim. They come with replaceable fuzzy strips that slide in place.

Thank you very much Jai! Many years of driving these Zs for us all.
  14. Guys, Please don't cut that car in half! Hiyabrad, maybe purchase Sving1s entire car and transfer all your good stuff over to it? I know, none of my business but.... Hey, is that guy on the far right taking a leak on the tumble weed?
