  1. Here is the car which I am talking about . Kats
  2. I will make a replica of this label , this can be seen in the test car of US and Canada in late 1969 . Kats
  3. Thanks guys. I didn't think welding would work either, so I'll probably leave it for the time being, at least until I get new bumpers. The rest of the pin is still in there and doesn't want to move, and the thought of taking off everything to get that hinge out is rather unappealing. Fortunately, it's the passenger side, so it matters less [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Gents, As we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend grilling burgers and sipping cold beverages with family in friends wherever you are I wanted to share the story of the sacrifice of one of my closest friends (we were friends for 18 years) who died on 14 Sep 2012 in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. His name was LtCol Chris “Otis” Raible. He was the CO of a Marine Harrier squadron and died defending his Marines and aircraft from insurgents attacking on the fight line in Bastion. Many men and women have made similar sacrifices serving our country and without their willingness to lay down their lives for our Nation, our way of life would be far different that it is today. Take a moment, raise a glass for those sacrifices and enjoy this holiday. Here the story of the actions that happened that night in Afghanistan and a picture of my friend Otis! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gq.com/story/battle-of-bastion-taliban-afghanistan-air-base/amp
  5. Thank you Blue , MikeB , and Chris . I see ③ on the two places , they are LHD dash board, so the picture is no reversed . I think it is very Japanese people-ish that writing ③ , people always tend to write numbwr in a circle when we want to mean “ numbering “ . ( I can show here ③ easily because my keyboard is for Japanese language ) Also , it is very natural for Japanese people that we use “ No “ for “ number “ , this is numbering too . However , it is a little bit abrupt that we think the ③ on the dash would mean HLS30- 00003 . It doesn’t have to be HLS30-00003 ‘s dash for the service manual ‘s photo example. The dash could be pulled from a shelf where newly assembled dash boards standing-by for the installation. Kats
  6. The OIL cap, as Jim pointed out, is the correct cap for that valve cover. Both of your's are not correct.
  7. Note that your valve cover has a O-ring seated in it so you will want to use a cap that snugs up to that ring for a good seal (no seal on the cap). Later model valve covers did away with the O-ring in favor of a seal on the cap. My OE cap has the same shape (6 protrusions) as your second pic but no elephant, only the word OIL, my valve cover also has the O-ring seal.
  8. Hi , I will replace a rear deck glass of my Z432 with a NOS one soon , I have got this when I flew the place and brought it back home with my plane. I am so glad that the defroster works perfect, the glass passed the operation test . It is my style , boiled water under the glass . Kats
  9. You will find it here on this forum. Look up at the Header with Classic Z Car Club on it and there will be a tab called resources. click it and look for the 77' color wiring diagram. I know you have a 78' and the coil and voltage reg will be different but a lot of it still pertains. Lots of other good stuff there also.
  10. That pin is hardened. Even if you would manage to weld it back together, you would have to heat treat it after the welding. So in other words..... "No".
  11. I believe it comes down and through the frame rail below the filler neck and out onto top of the tank. Not positive though...
  12. I think that is the part number I used. I found they were a little too large but worked ok. Most people won't know unless I run over them.
  13. Mark I apologize for forgetting your deep well of knowledge. Phillip has helped me so much over the years. I am grateful to the both of you! @Zed Head I am always impressed at your ability to express, relay information without all the bull****. You are great and deep well of info. Ima about to cook 56 pork shoilders and 62 slabs of ribb for the holiday.
  14. This is what I’m doing right now... Hanging out at the wash racks at the end of Maple Resolve 19 in Wainwright Alberta. American troops participate with us every year. That’s two of my guys chatting with the Hercules crew. Good times.
  15. Thank you Ferg! Thank you Mark! Happy Memorial Day to all.
  16. Thanks to you too, Mark!
  17. The voltmeter should always work even with the key off. Sounds like you've lost connection through your main fusible link. there's a fuse also but I can't tell which one it is. There's better diagram below this one.
  18. Cheers to my US brothers in arms... Sgt Mark Lewis Electro-Optronics Tech Lord Strathcona’s Horse Royal Canadians Combat Veteran, Task Force 1-09, Panjwaii Afghanistan 2009
  19. Cheers Thank you for your service and his sacrifice!
  20. Take a peek into #4 with a borescope before you tear it down.
  21. That beautiful 240 will grow on you. I never drive my 280 anymore. Now I understand why Harley guys like the hardtail bikes so much.
  22. Finished up all the big stuff.
  23. You could always Bosozoku it.
  24. The car originally had a type 1 FRP airdam. I decided I wanted a stock valance and possibly add the Euro style front spoiler. It was a last minute decision so I purchased one off EBay. Had it straightened and painted only to find out that the center section was the wrong one. I believe this is the 73 and up with shorter brackets..I then purchased a brand new re-pop, which are really super nice quality BTW and mocked it up to make sure it’s going to properly fit.
