    You might have a washer that is not the right size that may be impeding your ability to raise the nozzle so it lies flat to the bridge. Check the lineup of nut, spring, washer, etc, on each side to make sure they are both the same.

    Do you mean the part that Nissan calls a spacer? They compress and deform over time anyway. You could probably use a big o-ring in its place. http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/axle/rear-suspension/13

    It's this kit I expect: https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic20j/23-4190 It's cheap and works. The stock compression rod setup isn't a great design.

    Don't get me wrong, I also do the phone thing for my orders and you are right on about them being "nice as can be" over the phone. Just wish the website would actually reflect what's really available.

    looks upsidedown to me, going to have a heck of a time getting the strut on, it has to fit onto the steering knuckle. Don't you have a FSM to refer to?
