  1. The Canadian Tool Exchange visited last night!! Thanks @240260280!! And even though I'm jumping the gun, I just had to try out the ring pliers. Seem to work just fine: And speaking of such things... The Ring Fairy made a recent visit as well:
  2. Very good catch! I also find myself distracted by the green pretty often ?
  3. Should have mail them FedEx but I’m biased. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It's been a slow month/six weeks due to work and moving house, but some progress this past weekend. Starting to put the front end back together. Hopefully things pick up speed over the next few weeks.
  5. Kevin, you want to turn this around 180* and have the rubber bumper just touching the cross member.
  6. Thanks, I will keep an eye open for that. Nashville is a bonus to this trip but I figured it would be best to be close to the event if possible.
  7. There should be a big block of rooms coming available when registration opens

I called Xfinity's tech line. We buddies now!

I gave him a "Like" because he's "trying to get familiar with other members". A bold move. Dennis

  11. I got way further on my ITB install. My kick panel mount worked perfectly and I have about 2 spare inches on the wiring harness. I successfully installed it all with zero cutting of my stock harness and zero new holes which I’m pretty happy with. Now the hard part. Making all the shrink wrap and loom look clean.
  12. Well now that temperatures are below freezing, I have got the furnace tuned up and the shop ready for some paint work. I will use the small paint booth I set up here to prime and prep all the panels. I may end up doing the finish paint on the interior sides of the panels so they can stay mounted for finish body work and final paint. I lose sleep over this sequence. My gut tells me that having the panels painted and mounted for final body work is the safest bet. No more welding and dollying etc. Just final finish smoothing and filling. Then I can paint the whole car assembled and blend the paint seams where it meets finished paint on edges etc.
  13. Oct 1969..... first Z's coming to North America... first the test team!
  14. So I took a little time tonight and installed the idle air control valve. It's getting crowded on top of the intake manifold now. On the bright side, I don't have to pull up on the choke handle to let extra air through at cold idle.
  15. I just spotted another unique aspect of this rail: the return nozzle opening is a "huge" 1/8th inch diameter unlike the pinhole opening in the typical 240Z or 260Z rail. This suggests it was (1) feeding a much lower fuel pressure to the carbs or (2) an allowance for a much higher fuel pressure entering the rail - possibly from an electric fuel pump.
  16. Thanks for the heads up Jim. He states the unit he has is for 70-76 models and is probably the 6 bar unit as the 10 bar unit was only used in the 69-70 production. I made some tests on the gauge. It appears to be looking for: 0 psi - 83 ohms 25 psi - 60 ohms 50 psi - 40 ohms 90 psi - 24 ohms A note to anyone trying this, the water temp/oil pressure gauge has an internal voltage regulator that is a bi-metal mechanical type that is to slow for our digital meters.
