  1. LOL. It was grotesque and deep but not painful. Janet had first aid kit in truck so we patched it up, got the S2000 running after 2 year sleep (btw I was trying to oil the valve train before turning over). Poked around the Z barn helping my buddies. Drove the S2000 to new location 30min away then went to ER. Priorities
  2. Philip, a Honda is NOTHING to kill yourself over.
  3. A little 2K epoxy work tonight. This is a good start! One full mix did a front fender, cowl and centre valance under the rad. Hood, hatch, fender, two doors to go!
  4. Hell I'd be using a paperclip and cheese if I found one if a yard (MacGyver style...) Haha I've only ever seen 1 S30 at our junkyard, and I stripped it pretty good... you never see them around here anymore, especially not in the junkyard...
  5. Wow, Philip, glad all is well! Can't say you don't give your all to the cause!
  6. Dang - sorry to hear about this but glad no serious damage was done, lots of potential for long-lasting impact in the wrist area. At least the offending vehicle is now gone from the scene. Going forward, recommend you limit your focus to activities on Z's with adequate room to work.
  7. The research I’ve done for my other cars is the Wixx makes the best filters (same a Napa Gold). Someone on YouTube cut most of the main brands open and Wixx was consistently the best made with the best filter. Fram was by far the worst. Bosch and tested as average. 8. Yes... sorry I forgot to confirm. Thanks! I soaked those GJ's in vinegar and rubbed to remove oxidation. One had a sticking ball that overflowed when I removed from a car so check them carefully. Maybe a good solvent soak and blast with compressed air would be a next step to ensure the passages inside are free of debris and buildup.
  9. Yikes!! Glad to hear that it didn't get into a vessel and cause any major blood-letting! Be Well my friend!
  10. Wow. Down to the tendons pulling a valve cover!! Glad you got it all stitched up! You didn't have to drive yourself to the ER did you? I'm assuming you got a bunch of dirty "You idiot, not again!!??" looks at home, didn't you? I know I would.
  11. Sorry for the delay Cliff. I had misplaced the envelope when on vacation in Newfoundland. As a result those jets visited Dildo, and also drove past a moose we named Jimmy.
  12. A few pics of the exhaust. Hard to believe it is 50 years old.
  13. Based on some prior super-secret discussions with @wheee!, I'm running a Denso 150-2066. I've switched pretty much everything over to Denso now.
  14. Finally got the rear passenger side bumper shocks removed. Did what was mentioned above. 1. Removed the fuel from the tank. 2. Loosened up the clamp in the trunk that connects the filler neck to the rubber hose. This is need to give some slack to remove the tank. 3. I raised the car, then loosened up the tank straps. This gave me some room to get to the end part of the filler hose that connects to the tank. Once the hose has been disconnected, then it’s easier to move the tank over to the driver side. 4. Then removed the 3 remaining bolts for the bumbler shocks located above the tank, had to play around to remove the shock. 5. Done!
  15. We had a Georgia Z Club gathering at the warehouse where one of our members keeps his cars. The newly fuel-injected 260Z ran great, too. It didn't hurt that the temperature was about 20 degrees cooler than it had been earlier in the week.
  16. Injectors are wired. I can’t tell if that was fun or not. But I’m proud of how it turned out. Matches my coils pretty darn well. Now the easy stuff is left. Hopefully I will get that all done tomorrow.
  17. When I moved from New Jersey to Texas in 1977 my brother gave me his CB for the drive down. When I bought my Z 2 years later I installed it behind the passenger seat. The P.O. must have had one, because there was an antenna mount on the rear bumper. I was more into listening to the truckers than talking. I removed it many years ago and replaced it with a CD Changer (another obsolete item). I still have the CB in the basement somewhere. Might be useful after civilization collapses.
  18. You can weld Zedd Findings over the factory rails BUT that doesn't deal with the rust inside the factory rails. The rails are frequently rust pitted on the inside almost to the point of total penetration and the outsides will look pretty good. Off with them.
  19. So, I sanded one of the areas I saw the spider cracks and I think it’s fine. I used 320 grit followed by 1500. Check it out now. Any seconds? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I agree, you need to get it clean to see how much needs to be replaced. Some body has been working on the tension rod mount with a hammer!
  21. Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I'd love to see you in Scottsdale and show you my Z-cars and other cars if you are interested. Please let me know when you'll be coming out. You probably know January is car auction month in Scottsdale which is an excellent time to be here for car guys. If you know of anyone wanting a Scarab book, they are available on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/223638321695
  22. Damn- id have my 10mm working overtime
  23. Now it has 4 wheels, three carbs and two seats, so i guess it's a 432 now? ??
  24. Great thread! My take on it with a vintage Adult Swim koozie and some liquid nails on a 113 green background...
  25. Well I am a dumb dumb. Tried to pull the S2000 valve cover off and forgot about the sharp heat shield between the valve cover and my body. 1 slip of the fingers and a nice deep cut. I could see inside my arm.. tendons and fatty tissue. Luckily no blood paths were cut. 6 hours wait in ER behind so many Saturday night priorities then 4 stitches and all is good. No pain and I can continue to work w/o impediment or problems... lesson learned: Situational Awareness when doing any task. I'll put grommets on those heat shields too.
