  1. I don't think you're being overly cautious. Too many unscrupulous overseas businesses. Once you do a wire transfer, your money is gone, even if you never get your order. Just offer to pay the PayPal fees. That way you at least have some recourse if they rip you off. If your PayPal account is tied to your credit card, you have an additional layer of protection. If the vendor is unwilling to accept PayPal, I'd tell them "no thanks " and look elsewhere Just my $.02
  2. Back in the hole. Worked on getting my cable throttle hooked up. Pretty stoked the way it came out , pretty much invisible! So glad to be done with the linkage . I went all the way to the pedal too. Feels silky smooth. Now I can completely shave the intake if I want .
  3. The Nissan stand area at the '69 Tokyo show was quite extensive. Here are some images of other Nissan product on display:

  6. There is still a Harvey's or two in Calgary! And they are great.
  7. Well, that’s the end of the small one pint of colour I had. Managed to get the front end, both fenders and the underside of the cowl done though. I will purchase a gallon now and have it packed in pints for use as I go forward. The finish outside coat will definitely be one mix to ensure the most consistent coverage. The edges are less of an issue even though the mixing system is super accurate.
  8. Kats and Alan posted pictures of the Pierre Hotel event in posts 108-110 in your other thread below. The two Japanese ladies rolling the car cover back on the green car is a photo of the Pierre Hotel. The overhead photo of the larger group with the silver car is the LA Hilton event.

Yes, car is really in decent shape. I would bet the 88K miles on the speedo are the actual miles on the car based on it's condition. Took the glass out this evening along with the door panels and attachments. Miguel gave me the supports to mount the body on. I will remove the suspension in the next couple days and have the car on rollers ready for paint. Should have this to Miguel by the middle of next week.
  10. I went out to the car and checked. You are exactly right! All the comments are helpful, but this is (I think) the root cause. The rest is tuning.
  11. I think that the tabs for the screw are wrong on the left side. The one closest to the carb should be on the bottom.
  12. Thanks sooo much 240260280!!!!!! First I clicked on "reputation activity", and there were no pictures under "gallery". Then I clicked on "see their activity" and there were my pictures. Never would have found it without help. Thanks again.
  13. 1. Fast idle screw is fine. You only need it to hold the rpms ~ 2000 to 3000 when tuning. It saves you from getting a friend to sit with foot on pedal. 2. Balance screw should be adjusted when the above #1 is 2000 to 3000 and the engine is hot. Look up tuning procedure (The only time when you use this screw) 3. Opener adjuster should have ~1mm gap when car is tuned and hot. Leave it where it is for now. More helpful info. Plug the PCV input or connect it to the crank case vent pipe. Leaving it open will cause a very fast idle. Make sure the throttle plates are resting on the throttle screw stops at idle. The push rod between the carbs should exert NO force on the throttle plates at idle. You leave a little slop in the linkage by changing the length of the adjustable long push rod that runs along the firewall near the wiper water hose.

I think it depends on the year 280. 77-78 shoes are different than previous years, but I believe everything from 70 through 76 are the same.
  15. Oh my... So happy with the finish!
