Yes, definitely some serious rust. Nice to have that cut out and new metal welded in. Got the parts back from the Powder Coater. That was quick. Best deal in town....I send them dirty, rusty parts and they come back all nice and clean and powder coated.

  3. Some of you will remember me (LBO730 - Bryan) from a few years back for developing the reproduction early style shift boots, emergency brake boots etc. for the early Z cars. You guys gave me overwhelmingly great support on that project. I'm still doing lots of stuff in upholstery and leathercraft. You can see a photo of the leather interior I did in my 75 280 in my photos. I wanted to see if you guys think there would be any interest in good quality leather wallets, key fobs, belts, wrist cuffs, mouse pads, phone cases, guitar straps, coasters etc. and maybe even purses & totes for the Z crazy females, all of which would be customized with something Z related. IE "Z", 240Z, 300ZX or just about anything you could come up with. (Making sure not to violate any copyright laws) Ideas & suggestions from the Z community would be great. You can see some of the stuff I've done on Facebook at Brookland Leather Co. Let me hear from as many of you as possible as to whether you think this could be a successful idea. Thank in advance for your input!
  4. Not sure about the 79, but maybe just the BCDD doing its thing. If it was suddenly cutting at 10mph anyway. Part of the emission control, consult factory manual for complete description and function.
  5. On it's way to me now! (school girl squeal)*

If you watch the video series by homebuiltbyJeff in Aussie land, I believe he used a 2x4 in the door frame to "massage" his doors into position.

Mine did that, but they can be twisted some by hand or dollied some to make it line up. I haven't seen the need to cut one yet. Not saying yours don't

Where are the lines of trans! Thanks for posting this. Makes me feel better.
  10. Too bad they took so long to do the right thing. This thread is now in in-erasable internet history. Here come the crawlers! Run!!!! They should change their name like all good Crooked Companies do. <meta name="keywords" content="SZR, SZRPRO, szrpro, szrpro.com, Houston, Fail, Problem, Avoid, Ripped Off, BBB, broke, damaged, datsun, nissan">
  11. Thank you Jim! It's never scraped since I've had it and theres no damage on the bottom side of the lip so I'll say scraping isn't a problem. There's not much distance between the spoiler and the tires is all I can think of. I also use a ZX radiator which sits a few inches lower than OE. Never scraped or bumped. I can't say anything about the actual purpose of front or rear spoilers, I just think they look good. The Xenon on front of my 280 made a big difference at higher speed lifting. I am more of a red light to red light speeder driving my 240. The 280 is heavier and handles way better up top. If you all need more pics I would be glad to post more. Cliff
  12. And again i learnt something! I've learnt in those years early '80 to program the 6802 …. 1 more than the 6801 haha... funny! does the NA also have the 6801 or only the turbo version? The turbo came only in 1983 in the Netherlands! We had no 1981 or '82 turbo version.. they were all NA. the turbo was an extra car imported in 1983, and 1984 came the first 300zx's..
  13. Are we mixing the ECCS system with the EFI sysstem? The ECCS system was used on the turbo engines. Nissan went full ECCS on all engines in 1984, from my understanding, at least for the Z cars. Google found me an old article about it. https://trid.trb.org/view/183990
  14. Well this EFI guy can tell you that by 1983, the ECU's WERE computer controlled. 6801 microcontroller running at 4MHz I don't know when the transition officially occurred, but by 83, they were programmed devices.
  15. The EFI guys here can help you get it sorted. Just provide lots of details and some pictures
  16. A 280zx has a analog computer, it computes an output signal from many different signals it gets from de sensors to run the engine.. but it does not have a actual ECU.. (I'm glad it has not!) this system was and can be still reliable. (an ECU has a clock signal and a processor, this can not be found in any 280zx..)
  17. matching glove box cover is on my pipeline.
  18. My Vintage Dash discussed earlier in this thread is now installed in my '73. Here is how it looks now. (Installed by Motorman7)
  19. yeaaaah.... international shipping two directions plus custom leather.... Plus the original shipping cost to get the parts here (door cards from USA)... That's gonna put this out of reach unless you already had the patterns there from your car (same year as mine). If I was closer this would make more sense.
