  1. I don't know how I missed this. Please consider me if you have another one in the future. And thanks for continuing to restore and supply parts like this to the community. Your work does not go unnoticed.
  2. The cap was badly corroded in place. I went to Motorsport and bought a new one. Took it apart to see how it worked. I drilled holes in the black plastic at the 5 screw locations. Using a channel lock, I pried it off. The keylock center mechanism lifts right out. Had to buy a pricey #9 easy out. Stuck it into the remaining formed steel cap, and with a large crescent torqued it off. Photo attached.

It's going to be a while before I can really get going on this one but I can work on all the stuff in the boxes in between other stuff. She arrived this morning just after a big dump of snow, my plow guy was late so had to shovel a path to the storage tent. the last pic is showing how low some PO cut the springs, the fender lip is digging into the tire and the car is stripped of all weight.
  4. How did you block off the BCDD? You can't just pull it off and slap a flat plate in it's place. That won't work:
  5. .... nobody told me I couldn’t! As for the whole car, the thicker the material, the harder it is to “section” coat. The thin splash pan only needs one side heated to properly cure the powder. Easy peasy.
  6. Mark, I have never seen anyone do powder coat in sections with applied heat the way you do but seems like you have it down to a science, it's very impressive, you could powder coat the entire car with your technique. The "paint" would be tough as nails.

I use to worry about when I first put it up and I'd be out there after every snow fall clearing it but one winter I was layed up with an injury and there was over a foot of hard heavy snow on that tent and it was just fine. The fabric is 20 mils thick and is stretched with 10-12 built in cargo straps and ratchets so the skin is a stressed member over the frame. It wasn't cheap but it's 10 yrs old now and going strong.
  8. Yeah, its sad, I didn't drive or work on my baby all summer. Work, injuries, other priories and Life in general... But this weekend I ordered an RX7 pump. Its ACDelco branded and externally looks similar to the Airtex pump I was running before. I have some other things to square away before the car can hit the road again but if this RX7 pump solve the problem then I'm probably going to throw in the towel and just live with it until the whole fuel system gets replaced (Future mods...)
  9. Can’t believe I finally found a rust free intact gas door! Third time’s the charm!

But the short driving season means more time to work on them, I don't work out there in the winter, that's strictly storage.
