  2. Electric one of these... And a Peleton for ms harry.
  3. o Perceived quality, perceived value, ego, how is the guy who spends 6 figures on a modified car any different than the guy who spends 6 figures on an original car? I see no difference at all between them, both of them are getting a car to admire and drive, both of them are presumably happy with there purchase regardless of whether someone else thinks they are uninformed or not. If resale valve is the most important thing then I would argue you are in it for the wrong reason. Whether guys like to admit it or not, these cars we like to play with are just toys, they are not important or vital, we as a group are the ones that give them worth and take away that worth. Muscle cars from the 70's used to bring a lot more money than they do today, why, the cars themselves haven't changed, the only thing that has changed are peoples opinions of perceived worth.
  4. Exploded view pics of the rocker assembly ... (I think I promised @grannyknot these about 10 months ago ooops)
  5. My thoughts are that he's full of $^!#. He seems to lack taste in cars and also has a very dodgy past. Hes got something going on with another guy who posts on there, they think they're the worlds best resource for all things s30.
  6. My body man is finally getting around to starting my Z car wall sculpture. Thanks to Zup for going out his way in getting the driver’s door. I don’t think he needed to apply the parking brake on his parts car that he got the door from to keep it from rolling away. No one will steal it either. I’ll update as it progresses. ?
  7. This one should make for a very lively auction and colorful commentary! https://msclassiccarsllc.com/VehicleDetails.aspx?vid=751
  8. You've been reading Playboy's Forums again.
  9. Dennis you're absolutely right. In the past year I've had 3 very long term customers give up their Zs due to their ages. Two of them are original owners. I find this situation very sad indeed. Perhaps my sadness is reflected in my own situation. Although I get around just fine at almost 70 and still put a few hundred miles on my 280 every year I recognize that the end is closer than the beginning.
  10. An Obsession. https://www.gq.com/story/datsun-240z-oral-history
  11. Also, the buying demographic for those cars has aged into their 70s and is unloading and downsizing. Transient collectables tend to lose value when the buyers/enthusiasts age out and younger collectors aren't interested. Dennis
  12. Given his history, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, why would a thinking person believe ANYTHING he says?
  13. I wish the Z came with a cross flow head from the start. I guess if Mercedes had made this head architecture in the 40's then we would have it now.
  14. Brilliant!! [emoji1787] That is pure Essex!!! For those not familiar with the concept of Essex etiquette, this is an abridged crash course ... (I am told the Canadian equivalent is Windsor CA? Although Windsor UK is truly lovely!) And continuing the cultural educational exchange programme: Chav is a derogatory UK word which approximate to the North American “white trash”. Some believe it stands for Council House And Vulgar, but the most likely origin is a category a highest Cheltenham collage came up with to label the undesirables in the most subtle English ways by calling them CHeltenham AVerage!
  15. I'd say the chaved out Mondeo. There's some right sights knocking about.
  16. Oh do behave, Rolls Royce any day! The Bentley would be considered too vulgar! :p
  17. Thanks - I am back in action through April!
  18. my short story is I purchased the full system with the JDM muffler. installed with no issues except the number six tube is so close to the Lower SU hose I never felt comfortable. Sean then sent me a Race header where the six tube is away from the SU. seemed okay until I installed it. The lower tube contacted the driver side frame. Tried everything I could to move things but nothing worked. Someone else here had the same issue. So I abandoned the header idea. Too much trouble for a basically stock engine. So I think I have the first dyno pull with a earlier exhaust. Stock exhaust manifold, stock down tube modified to a 2.25 in pipe a glass pak resonator and a Flowmaster muffler. My second pull is with Zstory full system using the Race/street header. This spring I plan to do another using my current system, stock manifold with a stock style down tube mated to the Zstory exhaust. I’ll be interested to see what difference there is. @S30Driver During my process I discovered my original down pipe flange was bad. I had a new one that had already been converted to 2 into 1, 2.5” Pipe. I bought clamps that matched Sean’s clamps installed it then had a local shop match the two together. They did all of the welding (very tidy). Here is photo after ceramic coating.
  19. 2? They don't crap either, too fancy. Kramer will feed them some chili though. Goodnight Sir! I've hit my limit.
  20. I wonder what Megan and Harry will bring? Dennis
  21. I agree with all of 26th-z comments, and that a 5/70 car should not have the air filter flapper snorkel system, which this car does not. Chris, are you saying that you see the air filter flapper snorkel system on this car, or did you mis-speak? I was excited to see all of the original yellow paint markings, the spring tension clamps and not wire clamps on the fuel hose connections to the fuel filter, a very original feature, and the very early master vac decal which no one to my knowledge, other than me, has reproduced, and I haven’t sold any. The hazard flasher switch is also missing the ON-OFF decal. If this car had its original exhaust system, I think it could compete with the Franklin Mint car. Just my take!
  22. It might a case of Shelby-envy. Perhaps he'll show up at the next ZCon and offer to autograph glove box lids ?
  23. Yup, I got suckered into buying a can too. What a waste.... HVLP guns are so easy to use and the results are better. Can't wait to see this project move into high gear!
  24. Jolly good then and bully for you old bean. My work here is done! ;)
  25. Hoover posted some more pictures on the "original paint markings" thread. Looking at them, I get the impression that the car has been worked on. The exhaust system is new. The brake master has been changed (the caps are wrong). I'm surprised to see a 5/70 build with the flapper type air filter (flapper type filter housings had stickers). Of course, the hubcaps are wrong. I see a few other things that make me wonder about the "all original" boasting coming from what appeals to me as a typical internet Zcon. It's a very nice car, but I have no appreciation for the rhetoric. I actually hope someone does pay a gazillion bucks for it.
  26. Well I haven’t been to Tehran, but I’ve been to Afghanistan, Panjwaii in Kandahar province. I have to say I preferred that over Toronto and yes I’ve been there many times! Bullets flying in both locations.... Having said that, people live there for reasons other than choice. Love both coasts and have spent time in every province except Manitoba, PEI and Newfoundland but have nothing bad to say about any of those places. All in all, Canada is the best place on earth to live and raise a family in a democratic nation of privilege. The downstairs neighbours give us a bit of fright now and then but I think they will grow out of it.
  27. Mine didn't have them either. VIN 5200 or so. There wasn't any residue to indicate they were ever there. So I assume they never existed?
  28. Ahhhh... this is a satisfying picture.
