  1. Thanks NVZEE , I corrected “ pitch “ to “ posture “ , because it is actually said “ 車輌姿勢 “ ( vehicle’s posture ) . Engineers lowered only front , rear remained the same as other market car . So if I say pitch , it doesn’t express this engineer’s work correctly. Again Why they lowered 15mm in front ? The reason is S30 has a tendency of lifting up in front 10mm when it is cruising. It’s posture becomes not level , attitude is up in front . Kats
  2. This factory restamp is a great panel. Much better fit than the Taiwan repro.
  3. well i ended up buying it, texas car ended up being rust free on the underside, almost no rust on the car in general, few whisky dings but nothing too major, fuel cell was empty so i won’t have to clean that, the wiring seems basic and shouldn’t be too bad, once it’s running and driving it should be down to paint body and upgrades. no damage on frame rails and no rust in the place you were telling me about. will update y’all when i get it running, thanks for the help!
  4. Installed the mustache bar without the offset washers. Seems to line up well.
  5. Here is my replacement tank, just recently removed. It has quite a high gloss compared to the suspension components. Replaced in 1985 at 134,600 miles and now has 147,600 miles, so only about 13,000 miles. $195 list price and I paid $156. Wondering now why I didn't stock pile more parts.
  6. Looks like about a 3-4x “R” premium over a top Z432, which seems not totally unexpected (assuming of course that the sale is real and consummated). For those with the means who have been patiently waiting for decades to own one before they die, this public auction represented a unique opportunity. If you are pushing 70+ years of age, time is suddenly short. I feel for the underbidder.
  7. It is an odd cognitive dissonance I find, because if you mention a more expensive marque such as a Ferrari GTO. Suddenly nobody advocates sticking a modern V8 under the hood. It seems if something is relatively affordable it should be open slather, to chop up, modify and change from its original state rather than appreciate for what it is or was. Sadly.
  8. Mr Richard Hell (and his Voidoids) told me in 1977 that I belonged to The Blank Generation. But I can take it or leave it each time... Hey. Never too old to meme. They are just captioned stills, after all. About those "faster" comments: Yes, they'll keep coming. And my daily driver diseasel Audi - all two tonnes, heated leather, tow hitch and Bang and Olufsen of it - would probably show any 432-R the way around a race track too. But so what? Those 'my car would...' guys are missing the point so far that they aren't even on the same map.
  9. Imagine how much the 432-R would be worth if it was blessed by Mr K's signature? PS: Looks like the Boomers have figured out how to "meme" hehe. Or are you Gen X? I probably shouldn't ask. :). Waiting for the Jalopnik article to write about the "crazy" price paid for a "240z"...and all the LS swaps are better/faster comments on Facebook from the philistines. Can't wait.
  10. I've got beck arnely on both my cars. Happy with mine. Rockauto is where I got them.
  11. I've had the fuel tank out for de-rusting and cleaning for some time now. I finally got my son-in-law to come over and help me reinstall if. I could get it mounted by myself. Or, I could get the fill hose on the tank nipple by myself. But I couldn't do both simultaneously without help. Sorry, no pics. Still need to finish chassis-side fuel hoses (with see-through filter), hook up the new fuel pump and replace the ignition switch. Then it's ready to fire up again, and will hopefully run right.
  12. I don't know if it's a greddy shape. I would say it's not equal length. It is ceramic coated though.
  13. I picked up a right and a left factory restamps 8 years ago during the restoration and they needed a bit of adjustment but fit great
  14. Just to clarify: Watanabe's C10 GTR might even be considered inexpensive and very well bought, assuming it's superb pedigree checks out (which likely makes it eligible for pretty much any historic 2000CC-class race worldwide). As far as the restored KPGC10 street car goes - IMHO 33 Million was expensive, but, as a data point, there was a super original KPGC10 with very low miles that went for similar pricing, maybe 5 years ago, in Japan as well. The KPGC110 was the car I was primarily referring to - I have not heard or seen one sell at the 45,000,000+ level that this example achieved, but I admittedly have not been paying attention in the last few years. Perhaps interest has strengthened? Maybe this one ticked all the right boxes for the buyer.
  15. Hi xs10shl , Japanese economy is getting better for someone , we have Tokyo Olympic Games this year , but most of people can’t feel our life is getting better economically. Like you said , the GTR sold for over 30 million JPY , probably that could be the first time for the KPGC10 (two door GTR up to 1972) sold in that high . This GTR too , some parts are not correct ( the most obvious thing is the steel wheels borrowed from sedans ) for this car but appearance is really good, clean and paint job is fantastic. These points made this car over 30 million JPY, I think . Kats
  16. Kats - could be a sign of positive vibes on the Japanese economy? Of note, there were a few other strong prices at the auction - the C110 GTR fetched what I'd think is a leading price. It's hard to discern condition through photos, so perhaps it was worth the price paid. I've previously seen over-the-top Yen paid for cars which are bona fide unrestored pristine examples.
  17. Two years ago , 00289 was like this , and at the car show the price tag was over 80 million JPY , every body thought “ no way “ . But why this time it was sold ? I think one of the reason is this car improved its appearance better . Even some parts are still not correct for the Z432-R , but this car now looked more proper, more original. This means S30 has so beautiful design for exterior and interior, designers did great job ! You don’t need to change something to look the car better ( but I really love to see modified car too ! ) . Kats
  18. Alan. btw I have a white cat that sits at the table. His name is Hank and he fetches like a dog... my lil buddy. Here is Bronte at 21 years. She ruled the house:
  19. Thanks! Best I could do with the Mig and grinding. Maybe I'll be able to do this kind of thing better with the Tig in the future. And here is where having the car on a rotisserie is so nice! Still body filler art involved with making things straight. Much work work to do... Sighting down the body line, it is pretty straight. Next up (second pic) is to fix the floor panel where it wraps around and didn't get welded to the inner rocker right: More body filler work is ongoing. I hope to put a bit more epoxy primer on the body of the car tonight.
  20. Its not the new style one...... Fujitsubo did quote and show data for the improvement from old to new, that might be a good move if you're after the very last hp from your setup?

It's interesting to see the suspension specs. Nice detective work ?
  22. Ahhhh... this is a satisfying picture.
  23. Hi Gavin , safari gold is rare I think too . They are not Auction but currently three Z432 are available here , https://www.carsensor.net/usedcar/search.php?CARC=NI_S026&AL=1&SORT=4&STID=SMPH0001 Two white ( one of them 1969 made ) , one orange. And this green car was for sale 16,500,000 Yen at カーセンサー recently. Some weeks ago it was dropped so someone bought I think . The car is a survivor, very original car . I even may want it to be as it is to enjoy its patina look . This car can be drivable easily. Kats
  24. Same as this 1. I can get photos of the 1 in my garage if you want, but it's all dusty ? Can only just see it below here. and at front here. I believe it was common on UK spec cars.
