  1. Just wanted to post a quick followup on the aerosol paint I purchased from the link posted above (Automotivetouchup.com). I've now had a chance to refresh a few panels in my engine bay and frame rails, and I just wanted to report that the color match was excellent. It was nearly a perfect match to the original color (#510 Sky Blue Metallic). I couldn't be happier. I'm sure that trying to match the color on an exterior panel would be considerably more challenging, but for the engine bay it was a very acceptable solution. Thank you "S30Driver" for the recommendation!

  4. You already bought the $649 machine, right? You're just looking to see if you can commend yourself on a worthwhile purchase, or need to kick yourself in the butt for buying an the expensive one when you could have bought one for a quarter the price that does the same thing? Well for making that decision, here's some fodder... The only thing fuzzy about that HF welder is the quality, and there's no invertor technology employed there. That HF welder is the big asss heavy lump of copper transformer that we talked about above. Works OK, but doesn't come with any of the adjustability that yours does. In fact, the only thing adjustable about that HF welder is weld pressure and the amount of time the power is applied (because you can let off the handle any time you want to). So it kinda all depends on what you're looking for... That HF welder is old bulletproof technology, but the results will be only as good as the guy using it. Your machine is programmable so you can get dependable consistent results from one weld to another even if you have no idea what you're doing. From what I've seen, in the small amount of poking around I've done for this thread, Telwin has a good reputation, and that spot welder seems to be well a respected portable unit. Not sure the same sentiment exists for the HF offering.
  5. Nice solution! I went the other way and put Sparcos in my S2000 and run with the cushion removed on track for the same reason.
  6. Is the eccentric collar on right and still has the backing plate on? I think that's what it's called, the fuel pump's arm rides on it and moves in and out. The cam sprocket first then this thing. Tightn the holly hell out of that bolt too. Don't remember the ft. lbs. number right off but it's way up there.
  7. You made your point. The posts you're quoting are over 5 years old.
  8. Update: so there wasn't any red stuff on wiper arm (not sure where I came up with that) but the wiper arm wasn't 100% pressed up against it. I heavily bent the arm so that it makes good contact with the coil wire now but that didn't seem to be it. I grounded out the connector to the gauge to see if it would peg as a full which would confirm the wiring and gauge were working and they are, which is good. I started jiggling stuff on the sender unit and the gauge started dying then coming back to life so it was an electrical connection issue between the harness and unit coil. What it ended up being (we think) was the rivet connector between the yellow power wire (from the harness) and the wire for the coil/wiper arm on the sender unit. I could spin the rivet inside the housing meaning there was a poor contact between the yellow power wire and the sender unit's coil wire. We put some solder on there to bridge the rivet with the wire's connector and it may have done the trick. If it still isnt working properly, then we're out of ideas - will update you guys later on. EDIT: I forgot to mention, I tested the float in a bucket of water and it worked with no problems
  9. Count me in on a group buy if that is feasible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi James, Although I actually like the original "park bench" bumpers on my '78 280Z, the idea of swapping them for the smaller 240Z bumpers has been growing on me for the last few years. I actually bought Eurodat' s excellent brackets for installation a couple of years ago but never bought the bumpers. I've been partial to your SS bumpers so I would be in for a group buy at this time of anyone else in interested. I appreciate the better quality of your product and the work that you've put into your company through the years. Quality first. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  11. James, thanks for the info. I’ll be getting 240z style bumper for my 77’ 280z from you guys. It will be a few months so if you anticipate an end of production on the near horizon please keep the forum informed so others don’t miss the boat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
