  1. I too feel saddened that these cars are becoming unreachable for the average person. Seeing #1 and #2 cars go into six figures means they aren't a car that will be driven and enjoyed by average guys. The days of driving one to work or school as daily driver are long gone, and my fear of something happening to mine when I go out or on a roadtrip is stressful as I am unlikely to be able to easily replace it. Jeff, I recall seeing your car and talking to you at Gingerman shortly after you built it. I still run track days (in a Miata) and have been looking for a Z to run. Sadly, I also see that dream slipping away as the cars become more collectible. About a year ago, I went to an estate sale and saw a Z for sale that was in somewhat rough shape. I considered buying it to turn into my track car, but couldn't bring myself to do that to a car that could be restored and enjoyed by someone else. I prefer to find a car that has already been converted to a race/track car. It seems like finding the right one for the right price may never happen. Luis
  2. A timely post on windshields. Last year I replaced my original pitted windshield with a oem green tint, no blue top band replacement manufactured by Fuyao Glass. Fuyao is a large oem manufacturer with plants here and overseas. I discovered that Vintage Glass sources the Fuyao windshields and re-sells them. The total cost with shipping was very high, so after much research, I found a very large glass distributor in Tulsa that had them in stock and picked it up at their warehouse. Very recently, a group of us, including a notable member in Austin purchased a number of the Fuyao S30 windshields. We discovered that this distributor had a total of 9 in various warehouses around the country. We purchased all of their existing inventory, and after they arrived, picked them up. At this point are all are spoken for. The distributor indicated that they had no idea when or if they would ever be manufactured again. This is what drove our decision to purchase all of the inventory. I took a quick picture after unloading them last weekend...
  3. Remove the Kubota names and put Tonka on it. After all, It's just a big sandbox toy for big kids.
  4. May need to adjust the rear float Oliver.
  5. Going to build a new house, garage, long driveway, ditches, etc. on some land we bought a couple of years ago so I figured this would save some money and have a fun factor. Janet OK'd so we bought it last night. 2015 Kubota BX25D with 37hours. It has loader, backhoe (with thumb) and is a 3 cylinder diesel..... now to learn "tractor'n" Similar Facsimile:
  6. He doesn't want much for it. I assume that he wants it delivered though. "I’m looking to trade for a full-dresser. Let me know what you have."
  7. I finally looked at this. When you buy the rebuilt booster there are issues with the threaded rods not lining up at the firewall and they warn that it often needs to be customized to fit your car. I bought the master rebuild kit and it was challenging but I got through it. Mine held vacuum after I was done but I tore it completely apart as my photos indicate. I also cut gaskets for my spacers and plan to silicone them in in case there is a potential vacuum leak there.
  8. I would say 8k is an excellent price for the car. Full quarters are no longer available. After market partial quarters, floors, inner wheel wells, dog legs and inner and outer rockers are currently available. The car could be very valuable if properly handled and repaired
  9. ? At least all my metric tools will work on it. I was trying to get a John Deere but no deals at this time.
  10. 3.5 psi is a good pressure for carbs. Have you done a fuel volume test. Pressure and volume are not the same thing. You can have one without the other.
  11. Too bad Im not closer. I could've helped...
  12. The funny thing is that there are 3 holes on the back of the unit and it comes with brackets and hardware, but nothing lines up to the factory holes. Pretty annoying if you ask me. Mahaloz heyitsrama. I read your hole write up before posting. There is no write up of the unit I have. I just want to know if someone on here had the same issues as me. Sneak peak of the motor. 13. I created brackets that bolt into the two holes above the unit as well as a bracket in the front. check out
  14. And forgot to mention... The other small numbers with the lines that run parallel to the thimble are vernier lines to estimate between the other lines. So since your .003 doesn't line up exactly with the fixed line on the sleeve, you could use the vernier lines to get one more digit of accuracy. You are alllllmost at 1.378, but an RCH below that. Eyeballing it, I estimate it to be a tenth of a thousandth smaller than 1.378, or 1.3779. You can't see it around the back side of the mic in the pic, but I bet the small "9" line is lined up-ish with one of the marks on the thimble. But for what you're doing, we don't need to split thousandths. 1.378 is good enough for me. (As a side note... 35mm is 1.37795 inches)
