  1. Hi Jim Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Its really so exciting to be starting this build. Yes the shop is nice and spacious but im running out of room with all the parts coming off the car! It needs some upgrades though, no electricity atm, and want to give the place a good clean out! I swear my dads a hoarder. Yes Perth is extremely isolated! Not many z's left over here at all, I could count on two hands how many times Ive seen one on the road. Makes them more expensive and parts harder to find. But luckily we have you guys in US to buy parts from. Just have to get a mortgage to pay for the shipping costs! look forward to using all the knowledge and expertise from my fellow members

I watch this pretty closely as I do anesthesia (1 day a week now as I am retired). I have pronounced roughly 30 deaths and intubated twice that. We are quickly approaching 200K deaths in the US and that is a shame as it was not necessary. I think we will still have another peak as there is no discipline in this country. People refuse to do the safe thing because it violates their rights. Hmmm... My next door neighbor died approximately a month ago now. His name was Louie and he was a car guy. (Audi S8 in perfect condition) He was always up for helping me wrench. He called 911 at 8am and when the FD and Ambulance arrived he staggered out the door and fell to the ground unable to breath. He died where he landed. The Washoe County Department of Health had to double body bag him so the funeral home could take him. He was 39. He had just bought that 4Runner for his wife. This is real. It's changing everything. Be safe out there...
  3. LOL. To be fair, I was off by 5 hundredths of a mm. ?
  4. The bmw S54 engine I just put into my Z has DBW throttle so I'm using the stock gas pedal unit from the E46 M3, it's a very nice unit, fairly compact and I'm pretty sure it could be adapted to a different ECU. I was afraid it was going to have a remote feel to it but it's really well thought out, feels great and the throttle reaction time is instantaneous.

If I'm reading that graph correctly, that would be over six times as many, based on the August numbers. And I don't think the jump in U.S. numbers during July should be misconstrued as the 'second wave'. I think the real second wave is waiting to emerge in October -- and it may not be pretty. Conedodger's story and the accompanying picture are first person and compelling.
  6. Good guess on the OD.....
  7. Here's another idea, black nylon flat head screws with round face countersunk washers, size 10-24. Metric 5mm is also available but the washer ht and OD is to big. Less risk of marring the plastic panels compared to steel. https://www.mcmaster.com/plastic-screws/flat-head-screws/nylon-slotted-flat-head-screws-10/ https://www.mcmaster.com/plastic-washers/washer-type~countersunk/.
  8. I hope he is enjoying his cars. Who would have ever thought that this plague would make airline pilots unemployed?
  9. Putting the bodyside mouldings back in place will avoid the need to weld up the mounting holes (probably a couple of hours of shop time). Suggest you consider using steel rivets rather than aluminum, so as to avoid dissimilar-metal corrosion issues. Plain-steel rivets will have their own bare-metal corrosion issues, though. Check to see whether stainless or galvanized types are available. If not, the rivets can be phosphate-dipped to provide at least a degree of corrosion protection.

Neither. Go back to post #11.
  11. You did it Again!!... you put a smile on my face and i laughed out loud more than once, but telling my ....yada yada yada... no... i'm (as i asume you don't know )home alone and at the moment more than disabled.. (at the moment a Hernia.. i could barely walk, now it's luckely a bit better.. ) Oh.. let it go.. the paintjob is not perfect, so what.. nothing is.. I drive a 300zxtt a very clean nice paint car, you'r scared to park it on a lot, scared it gets dented by a cardoor.. i got a 240z with... sorry but what we call here an american paintjob.. (the red paint is so thick layered it filled the rain edge .. you know where the rain comes of the roof) and i once backed it up into my garage.. a bit speedy... and i hit some rims with the side of the 240z... it's still visible! I don't care because i know it needs a paintjob anyway.. i had more problems with the fact i scratched those rims! (red paint on them! the 1st of july my 280zx got a Dutch MOT (APK) and i drove the fresh car/paintwork backup against a GoldWing! My own one! It has a very nice paintjob but now it has a little dent after 1 day!! I let it go... i don't care (grr.. i don't care i tell myself.... LET IT GO!!! )
  12. Mine were just tight with no play I don’t think it’s possible to bottom it out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That looks nice, and I’ve got one sitting in the garage that I can size things up from. I just need my wife to look the other way while I fiddle with her car! I’m more concerned with the throttle body end either adapting to my throttle body or the throttle body adapting to my ‘75 intake...
  14. Kats is fine, don't worry about him. We keep in touch and - as you can perhaps imagine - the Japanese airline industry is facing a lot of upheavals at the moment, so he has been seeing some changes in his work pattern.
