  1. Just like when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail... When you have a cheap HF welder, everything looks like a great place for a blob of terrible looking weld slag.
  2. I thought Levy was gray haired Fabio. i sure do like Brie Larson the new Nissan girl.
  3. I kind of want one, but ??? Where I live in AZ, Nissans are hugely popular and I see lots of Z33's and Z34's, but they are all total drifter wanna-be's. Most are slammed and have mismatched body panels with ricer exhausts. S30's tend to be tastefully modded as do S130's, Z31's and Z32's, but the newer stuff is a mess. Depending on what the new Z really costs, I might possibly consider it, but it would have to drive really well for me to give up my DD 996 and have a car payment again.
  4. Of course, not, but we WILL always picture you with a long scraggily beard from here on out.
  5. Man, I hope I don't have to give up my screen name.
  6. Kind of funny/sad that they gave it the sound of a V8. https://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/future-concept/new-nissan-z.html
  7. When I played rugby in college, anytime a kick barely made it through the uprights (or doinked through), we would say, "UBE (Ugly, but effective)." That nut is securely fastened to the angle. It's definitely UBE.
  8. I like it. I still don't like the look of the front grill.
  9. Not clear what you mean by "at the beam". Power passes from the combination switch, to the fuse box, where it is split in to left and right, each side fused. High and low beam are determined by which is grounded. So there should be a power supply wire at each bulb that supplies power to the high filament and the low filament. The other two wires are ground wires back to the dimmer switch, one high and one low. I recall that one filament can be burned out but, because it is on a branch with the other, the other can glow dimly as there is a voltage difference across the filament. Sometimes called backfeeding, I think. Anyway, you might try checking resistance across the filaments to be sure none are burned out. One very dim light and one bright one are often a sign of a burned out bulb (actually one filament in the dim bulb).
  10. Got the Clifford header back from Jet Hot finally. Got everything buttoned back up. Next will be off to the exhaust shop when the roads clear. Ordered new carpet, pulled the seats out to give everything a good cleaning.
  11. Got it. Without the guidance, I would have probably said "you be" or just always referred it to by acronym letters "U B E".

  13. Kats, I don't think I ever showed you this tool set I bought. New. It comes in a cloth bag with fold-over and silver snap. It is printed "NISSAN MOTOR". The wrenches are 'SANKI' in sizes 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 17-19, and 22-24. Drop forged; they stack up in the red metal clip. The screw drivers are stamped in the metal shank 'NISSAN' for the flat blade and 'RABBIT' for the Phillips head. The pliers and adjustable wrench are marked 'NISSAN'. It came with a valve gauge, no markings, and just one blade.
  14. So, what do you do when you have some free time in the evening, have access to a cheap Harbor Freight welder, and possess a homemade tool? You attach a nut to the tool.
  15. I vapor blasted and rebuilt this one. Fairly easy
  16. I don't answer but I have stop what I'm doing, get the phone and look at it then hit the side button that sends it to voicemail and my voicemail is "the voicemail box is full for the number you've called". Ha! I'm a busy guy with dirty hands.
  17. I was looking for a garage project this weekend, so I decided to go ahead and install some Hella H4 housings with LED bulbs in the 240Z to replace the old Victoria British/Black Dragon Auto generic H4 housings with halogen bulbs. I have the generic H4 housings with LED bulbs in the 260Z, but I wanted to see if I got a better beam pattern with the Hella housings. I think the Hellas look better/more appropriate for the Z, too. I even shot some video in case someone needed some more information on how to change headlight bulbs on an S30, not that it's a big challenge. Anyway, the video should be available now.
  18. They were $1,000 beaters in the late '80s up until 2010 when everybody got all nostalgic about stuff. Damn internet! Ruined cute local girls now Zs.
