  1. Yoiu were probably as excited as me to see big and regular updates now that the car is back from the bodyshop. Truth is I have a lot of work and i'm in the final phase of some massive projects which have been going on tor two years at my work. The good thing is, in about two weeks these should be completed and i can go back to my Daily business and should have more time for my project. Nevertheless, i found some minutes here and there to get some stuff done in the recent weeks. 1) The first thing i did is clean some welds and primer all unprotected areas in rust protection weldable primer: I might have gone a bit overboard, but yeah, better safe than sorry. 2) I started preparing the spare Trunk spoiler by sanding it down back to shape and giving it a test fit on the trunk. 3) Test-fit the front grille hood emblem and front bumper. 4) Did some rear-end test fit mock up 5) Also got a bunch of nice magazines from Japan 6) and got basically gifted this nice NOS cigarette lighter from a good friend, but still need to check if it's the correct one for the Z. 7) I also managed to get the old nissan FAST / E-Fast software running again on my computer. so i can look up parts and stuff: 😎 I hope i can go back to work on my cars and drive them in about two weeks. so far this is the to-do list for the body: Oh and i'm also negotiating about a litle Parts lot which i hope i can get. let's see. expect a bit of silence in the next 2-3 weeks, but i hope i can get back full-on after that!
  2. I just have to hold out on mine til you big time sellers run out of stock, so I can get a sale or two lol🤣

WARNING, the following images may be triggering to some individuals, caution is advised. This car rolled into my shop last week, the owner wants to get ready to pass a safety inspection to get it licensed for the road. It has gone through 13 owners. The pics speak for themselves.

5/71 240Z. Went to drive home late at night from the SnowBall Rally in April, discovered no headlights, neither high nor low beams. Headlights used to work, but now don't. Trying to figure out the issue before the MotherLode 400 Rally. My combo switch had been falling apart, suspected that was the problem. Jay Zinc refurbished my combo switch, tested it, but still no headlights. Pulled every single fuse I can find, including all the fuses in the aftermarket fuse block that Fitted Garage installed, they all have continuity. Found the headlight power connector, confirmed that both filaments in both stock headlights have continuity. No voltage detected at the mating connector, with the car running & headlight switch on. Seems like the problem must be somewhere between the combo switch and the headlamp connector. All other interior and exterior lights work. Suggestions would be appreciated. The precipitating event might be shown in this image, as snow melt caused this creek to overflow.
  5. And he's a 240z guy who is providing us with products for our cars.
  6. Ken (or anyone else), do you have any thoughts on the Lokar versus cheap Amazon versions of the cable? In the grand scheme of things, the Lokar isn't a big expense, but in some cases there really is no difference to justify the 4 to 5x price premium of the name brand item. I don't mind paying for quality, but I don't like throwing money away, either!
  7. Good work! The cigarette lighter you have in the above post is, as far as I know, for a Cedric 130, as I have one too!

Like me, many 240Z owners have installed the "Dave Irwin" plug and play relay setup for the headlights. They should have documented it if they did this to the car. If done per the instructions it is completely reversable to stock.

It's #684! A potentially valuable car. Plenty of donors available for upper area metal. I would try to save it, if I could, based on Vin number alone. If the A pillars, roof structure and most of the firewall was good, I would probably give it a shot. It would also be nice if the tunnel was good down to where the floor pans would meet it. I would probably want to dip that chassis before the final decision got made I've got one worse than that in the driveway. The rusty one I have is beyond saving but it's also not a super early car
  10. I have a bunch of seven blade fans if you end up needing to source one.

That's a shame. A Z that deserved (deserves) to be restored - but who has the $$$$$$ to see it put back near to original... It would take the work those guys in Japan did in restoring the 1969 Fairlady Z.

Just advise him to order a weatherstrip kit as soon as possible.

  15. Came out very nice, that’s quite an improvement..
