    Thank you for validating my level of understanding. I'll mention it to my wife 😀. Although my Z came from the showroom floor with D hubcaps, I eventually traded them for a set of the Z caps because I thought they looked significantly better than the D caps. Looking back, probably not the smartest move. Especially when i see what the D caps are selling for now.
  2. Typical? I'm amazed how you can reach into someone's mind a read their most inner thoughts. My comment was not predicated on the accuracy of the document itself, but simply how an offer to the Z community from a long time member was treated. It is apparent that tact is not your strong suit. Mike has built a business and spent much time and effort creating reproduction parts to keep our Z cars on the road. The fruits of his labor are actually tangible, and are not just S30 esoteric factoids meant to bloviate.
  3. If you know, you know… My first ECU was a Haltech Elite 2500 that was used. Turned out to be fried. Luckily, the guy was standup and refunded my money. I guess he can send it back to Haltech for rebuild. This, is the Nexus R3.
  4. Too late now, but I think buying and shipping a "refurbished" crankshaft from Japan was not necessary. You - surely?- could have had your existing crankshaft ground and polished locally to suit factory undersize bearings. You're going to be buying new bearings anyway... As mentioned, the bores appear to be scored and will require either honing or reboring. Whoever is doing that work would - again, surely? - have had either the machinery or the contacts to grind the crankshaft. L24-specific parts are not that hard to get. Most major components are available, restorable (like your L24 crank) or share parts with the other L-gata engine family. No reason to be chucking out an L24 in my opinion. !!!! At this point I'm going to bow out due to fire risk. I don't know who is helping/advising you, but it might be a good idea to change them rather than random mechanical componentry. Good luck.
  5. I've recreated the frequency panel for the 240z radio panel- From what I can tell its as close as I can get it- what do you think?
  6. It's powdercoat on all the suspension parts. I only use paint on the differential and CV/half shafts. Also took a little 'artistic license' with rear suspension. Diff rear cover and half shafts should be black.
  7. Installed a set of Retrobelts and a subwoofer. Also cleaned up a lot of wiring - wrapped everything I could get to in wire loom, and replaced a flimsy fuse block with a nice little Blue Sea. IMG_7255.mov

    Thanks for all the confusion guys! Odd that they would change the hub caps in concert with the gearbox rather than at a specific production date, model year or VIN. I guess I'll just take a chance and go with Z hub caps (sexier than the Ds). Don't imagine it would make or break my chances if they ever featured 240s at Pebble Beach!
  9. Custom grade 5 titanium studs of my design. I am so tired of installing the old studs and I hate the look of the allen ones. I designed intake, exhaust, my intake balance banjos, knock sensor stud, stack studs and my intake intake/ throttle studs! The flat spots work perfect with a box wrench. I also love the look of a rounded tip on a stud. I think they came out awesome, after testing I will be selling. I bought enough, that they should be fairly cost effective as well.

  11. Whenever one posts anything on any site in the on line universe one runs a considerable risk that he/she will be challenged. My answer is "let's see you do better". If you can, I'm talking first hand , personal experience, and not something from another site somewhere, I'll be among the first in line to offer congratulations. You see, I don't have anything to prove to anyone save myself. This will be my last offering of this type on this site.
