  1. Thanks Steve! I wondered why it wasn't in the factory workshop manual! Turns out, I hadn't hooked up the ground for the fan. Today, I drove the car around some more to "shake it down". The pads are bedding in, and I have good brakes now. It was nice to have a working fan and heat! Here is a fresh walk around video:
  2. As far as I know, nothing wrong with this approach. I think many folks have had to do this. Kinda a bummer to bend the factory lines, but hey, gotta make it work.
  3. I just wanted to add to this post for anyone who comes across this thread. I had the same issue with my valve. After I changed the round seal on top of the plunger the top sealed fine but the plunger wouldn’t seal at all so the temp lever couldn’t regulate the flow of coolant. Just full coolant flow all time. On mine, the mechanism sitting on top of the plunger has a screw right on the front that seems designed to fix this exact issue (see pic). By turning that screw clockwise the plunger is raised so that its top position begins higher in the valve body. I simply turned it and blew into the other side until it sealed up. Worked great. I know there are a lot of differences among the years for these valves, mine is a November 77 build date, so in case anyone has the one pictured below, definitely try this first.
  4. Too bad they didn't have Lee Midgley's Alfa beside the BRE 510. Lee was a friend of Peter Brock's, and co-driver of the Baja Z in the Baja 500 1973.
  5. So, Over the last few days i got a few nice parts again. First a set of Nissan 50th anniversary badges in black: I always had a red and blue one but the black one was missing. now my set is complete and i got a few black ones for spare too 🙂 Then i got some Parts from S30.world. The first item is the Handbrake cable including all installation hadware. Just look at all the details. it's as close as it can get to the OEM part. including all the little hardware details! The Second set was the fuel tank installation hardware straps including the rubber insulation pieces. the rubber blocks for the fuel tank and the installation hardware. Again excellent quality parts down to the smallest detail. This should allow me to install the S30.world reproduction fuel tank on my test-assembly soon. Thanks again Chris for those awesome parts. Make sure to check out their ever-growing lineup of parts on the S30.world shop:
