Racing at Sandown this weekend
zr240 ….those damn quick times you do. Thank god Zeds are light. Racepace GTR was timed on proper lap timing system at the track. He uses the new Bridgstone semi comps RE55s. It’s a 3L…….. with a big single making about 500kw at the wheels on pulp. He can run more boost but he says he is still getting used to the car. The car has full interior and is quiet. He told me he was nearly hitting 300km/h on back straight, as he saw the needle go past 280km/h but he had to watch the road before breaking hard. The car looked extremely fast from the distance. Cost of the car & mods ……… you wouldn’t get much change from 100k. RPMGTR will be at Calder in few weeks. Now I need to get my sh!t together and get out as well.

Racing at Sandown this weekend
zr240 ............. I might pop by to have a look if I don't go away. BTW ……… Sorry that I forgot to tell you that last weekend Racepace GTR raced at Sandown. Track was cold but he did 1:16 on street tyres. :classic: What are your best times zr240 around Sandown, Calder and Phillip Island.

Cuong Nguyen .......... damn shame. I've been waiting a long time to see your car run. So what's on the plate for the rebuild?

What I did on the weekend
zr240 ............ I think this picture will answer your question :classic: check out the website for details: RACEPACE MOTORSPORT drunkenmaster.................I would highly recommend RACEPACE Motorsport for tuning of your car. I got Sinisha to go there with his rb26 240Z and he found another 40rwkw at the top end, and gained 60rwkw at 5000rpm. He also did my GT30 install and tune.

What I did on the weekend
I’d go one of the bigger GT30s , or a smaller GT35. Both will require external gate. With the GT30 it will make boost from 2300 – 2800rpm range and full boost by 3500 rpm, as a friend of mine has this setup in his R33 GTS-T. The car has on 14.5psi 320rwkw, and run 12.3 @ 124mph on street rubber. Also my mechanic got a RB30DET (rb26 head) motor in his GTR that makes 505rwkw on synergy, but that’s a big $$$ motor. He did 1:18 around Sandown with only 400rwkw a few months ago on street tyres, and drove it home after. :classic: What other mods are you doing, what ECU ? Also who will be tuning it once finished ?

What I did on the weekend
How much power are you chasing ??? ........ will you be doing circuit racing as well ?

What I did on the weekend
drunkenmaster ........ looks like you won't have too many free weekends this year.... :classic: hope it all goes well. ...... any reason you getting your motor build in NZ ........ ? ..... and why not go for a GT series Garret turbo instead of the T3/TO4 as I found the GT series much more responsive. BTW ...... Cuong Nguyen..... how long before your car is finished ??? l

why dont we see gt wings on zs?
thanx ROOPZ ....... the website is now 3 years old and needs some serious updating...... I must admit every time I drive past a Honda with a T-wing I feel like pulling over and ripping mine off….. as I’d hate to be mistaken for a rice boy. Also my car isn’t daily driver, it usually only comes out for abuse, ……. now that I have RB25DET g/box and don’t have worry about breaking another g/box. :classic:

why dont we see gt wings on zs?
GT wings are for a purpose, not decoration for rice factor. Only cars that do circuit work should have them. It took me a good year before I put my wing on as I didn’t want to put any holes in the hatch. As said before there aren’t any wings out there that will suit a Zed or that will work well. You need at least 6 inches between the element and the hatch for the wing to work. The higher the better, but anything more than 7inches looks plain silly. All the Zed spoilers from factory and most after market ones do very little. I made my spoiler to suit the 240 using a mould of a helicopter blade (section). When installed I found handling at higher speeds 70mph+ was greatly improved and when braking from high speeds the car was much more stable once you jumped on the brakes at the end of the straights on a circuits. Also works very well for placing food on at McDonalds car park Pics are from AUTOSPEED Here is a vid of the wing just slowing me down Zed Vid Sace Target As

Melbourne Turbo Z Videos
Hey guys ……… glad to see you enjoy the videos. To answer your questions, the car makes 220rwkw on RACEPACE Motorsport dyno, which is very conservative. According to Horse Power calculator to run my mph with my weight, the car has to be making 325rwhp, so about 400hp at the flywheel. The car is now running a GT30 turbo with external gate and it is one sweet turbo, as the car already makes 200rwkw by 4000 rpm. My site is 2 years old now therefore it’s a bit outdated and I’ve been a bit lazy to redo it. The only major changes done to my car that are not on the site are: GT30 turbo, RB25DET G/box, custom made tail shaft (truck unis) and 280zx turbo cv shafts (which I already have broken 1) Will be going back to the strip soon for a11.99999 sec pass .:classic: Here is 2 more vids from that night. 12.2 @ 117MPH 12.12 @ 116MPH p.s. checkout RACEPACE MOTORSPORT website

240z RB26 Gnose.
Sinisha's RB26 Zed recently has gained another 60hp at the wheels, and another 80hp at 5000 rpm, as the car got a brilliant tune by: RACEPACE MOTORSPORT Car might be able to get into 10s soon. Some Nittos will be required.

when are ZXT Half Shafts necessary?
When I had about 330hp at the flywheel I broke them 4 times in 3-4 months. I tried to be gentle with them but they would break even when acceleration on the roll. However my car is turbo, therefore produces a lot of torque which doesn’t help. When I put in the 280zx CV shafts I could change gears without stress. Definitely one of the best mods I’ve done, other than RB25DET g/box. :classic:
