Does this make anyone else sick?
hey...If I had a rusty 2+2 first gen, a big 4x4 chassis that was built, and a big motor...I would build one...but not with a standard first gen...

Steering rack bushings
haha...You have NO clue!!!! :-D it took forever for me to do it and I did it at night in my garage with a decent amount of light...the Polyurethane is just a little thicker...just a little too much.

Steering rack bushings
yep...the 74-78 is what you need...Have fun putting the passenger side one on if you have the motor in... I took me 4 hours to do both by myself on my early 260...

Dakota Digital guages...Next mod for my Z...
www.dakotadigital.com I am going to be using some of their guages and intigrate them into my aluminium dashboard. Look at the designer series...that is what I will be using. I also plan to ditch the distributor and, with my electrical engineer Dad, build a distributorless spark management system... can you say laptop time!!! I was just going to go with bigger wires but I saw 240Hoke's engine management with SDS on his 240Z with the 81 turbo motor and LOTS of mods...fgured it was time to go crazy. I don't know much about HAL sensors but I get the idea on how they work. I am still running roundtops but the ems will still be good to use when I go turbo...in the future. I think the "build the car on a buget" idea just went out the window. I will have over a grand in the dash before it is done. Plus rewiring most of the car this summer. I am getting some big plans...

VERY INTERESTING THREAD ABOUT PAINTING WITH A ROLLER.-Hybridz
I have been painting my car with this method...it works good if you have lots of time...which I don't. I have done the top half in regal red. Looks OK...I don't know...still want to get a real paint job....

congrats ZRUSH!
there we go... one crazy Z33 this Z belongs to 240hoke on Hybridz...front end frame 100% rebuilt from the firewall forward and replaced lots of floor pan... Z32 with a 383 I got to the scene of the wreck after the guy was out of the car but before the police were there. I heard he drove the car after they pulled it out. either before or after the show...during the show they did not allow mixing of z33s and older Zs

raising a lowered car
you can just get some spring rubbers. Sort of like those metal ones except better.

0 to 60 mph
so what you want for 0-60 is a 10,000 rpm motor because then you don't have to shift even if you run a high rear gear because shifting takes a lot of time.

0 to 60 mph
haha...posted the same thing at the same time...

0 to 60 mph
the 280zxt tranny is a Borg-Warner T-5 with a Nissan input shaft.
-
0 to 60 mph
I think the perfect gearing is the 81-83 280zxt tranny mated to a standard 3.54 rear end. That is the way I am going as soon as I get the tranny and other stuff. It lets you cruise at 70 at like 2700rpms...

0 to 60 mph
indeed...you have to get a lot of mods that will decrease your 0-60 time. I noticed a huge improvement with my 11# flywheel, coilover suspension with illuminas, and most of the interior gone a big increase in acceleration is noticed.
-
0 to 60 mph
stock was like 10 seconds...
-
0 to 60 mph
I am guessing mine is around 6 seconds...maybe less once I get the clutch worn in so I can slam the clutch.

My Z worklog (LOTS of pictures and some vids!)
right after rolling it out of the garage... it still needs a lot of work at this point. another view went and took some "beauty shots"

My Z worklog (LOTS of pictures and some vids!)
mustache bar bushings... side shot of the right half of the dash...needs some work the WORST area of rust...not that bad at all...that fender is trash anyway... before reassembly the paint... the old pressure plate...scorched... the old clutch disc. coilover reassembled at least the bling is hidden... right before reassembly...

My Z worklog (LOTS of pictures and some vids!)
hahaha...thanks!!! that is sort of my logo that my brother rendered for me. That is like $400 in those cutaway shots... I am building this car to be as fast as possible for a total of 12 grand. I am 9 grand into it now including the car. Maybe I can sell a grand of stuff off...I have those aluminium wheels for sale...
