what years did the differnent hub caps come out. What I am trying to ask is when did the company stop making hub caps with Ds on them and start putting Zs on them. And how many different type are there of these hub caps styles. Including non 240Z style caps. Pictures would be great.

thanks guys, I ask this because I was recently looking at a vintage motors place and it had a decent looking 240Z for 9000. I thought it was a little hefty, though I guess that is only at the mid range for the price of z's right now. Damn the prices to get the things you want. btw. nmra is not the same as nrma. One is a national model railroading and the other is insurance.

through much searching I am yet to find a company that will give the value of the 240Zs. Most of the popular ones (ex. KellyBlueBook) do not give prices for cars that are as old as the 240Zs are. Does anyone know where this information can be found?

I was reading the Red Dragon today which is the prequil to Hannibal. In one of the later scenes of the book there is a 280ZX talk about for about a paragraph. Can't wait to see the movie. Wouldn't it be great to see a Z in a newer movie

I went to www.z31.com, which speciallizes in later year Zs'. Anyway I was always asking questions about 240Z's and they told me to go here, cause it was all about 240z's

truthfully though, how much would it cost to get a touch sensitive alarm put on a Z?

I hate to be the one to have to tell you, but all signs point to a bad alternator. More than likely things all started to stop working over a progressive time. Then the car just wont start since the battery wont charge anymore. Make sure you battery is still good, cause once you replace the alternator you may need to charge the battery, or buy another.

yea, I saw the MTV thing also and could have sworn I saw a Z. Good to see I was not just dreaming in Z again. Yes, I thought the program was very imformative, though I didn't see much of the carnage that you would expect to see from the sideafect of streetracing. Seemed to me like a more romaticised version of the whole experience. Anyway, my 2 cents

thanks, I wasn't sure if there were any big differences and it seems easier to find 72 and 73 service manuals than it is to find the 71

I was wondering if there was a difference between the 240Z factory service manual years. Just wondering if it would be possible to own a 71 and be working with a 72 service manual or a 73 service manual.
