Yep the day has came, the day when a young man meets a beautiful lady and that beautiful lady is my Lady Z ...hehe I got one I put a down payment of $1100 and the finished payment will be on friday and I will have the car next week or the week after. ( To give me time to clear the garage) :nervous: The car I posted a couple of days ago that I didnt want I do now it is mine it is in Great condition and the engine runs really clean. It has the twice pipes exhaust sounds kinda loud, but I love it. The car's color is 303 emerald green I believe I'll know for sure once I look at the paint code.Oh yea and it has its original radio and it works Heres a couple recent pics.....

Well I was just skimming through the clasifieds section on sites to find a 260z and well this one seems different. I asked the seller to send me some more pics of the car and it seems like some kind of special edition, but no info on the car was brought up on google. Can someone please fill me on this car strange features. It seems the interior is a bit different from what im use to its tan or butterscotch yes, but it has multi shades of brown stripes in the seat and an DATSUN emblem on the dash below the three gauges:surprised . The exterior looks like a regular early 260z but the rear spoiler looks like the one on the special edition 280z and says what i thought to be GR but insteads its ER(the pictures a lil blurry:ermm: ) The car is from the west coast but is here in the east coast and has little to NO rust floor pans and all frame rails are clean as a bed of a s10 pickup and the battery try looks new

Did you try just getting a used hood in good condition at a local junkyard or from someone parting out a 280? Plenty of hoods on ebay... Nice picture by the way very clear what kind of camera do you have i assume its a digital...( dont mean to change the subject)

I just cant get over how cool it would be to have a mach 5 in anyones drive way. Imagine getting up in the morning in a speeed racer out fit walking out the door then the speed racer music plays.Then everything goes in slow motion, when all of a sudden everything stops and the cameras rotates around you in a 360 degree angle. Afterwards, you hop in the mach 5 and drive off with explosions behind you .....that would be a great comedy

yea the color scheme is nice ive seen it before on a 240z for sale on ebay except the stripes were different

why are they always green (the low VIN # 240z's) ...anyway it loks like its in better shape that the last Green low number 240z. nice find

I jus want to do a good refresh i will be purchasing my first Z most likely by the end of july i got two choices a 1973 240z or a 1978 280z the deciding factor is hard. One is a manual(280z) other auto (240z) i want manual but since i really like the 240s i may go with that one. Their both white. My goal with both is to do a brake system upgrade on the 240 if i choose that one clean the engine(either one) get rid of as much rust as possible. Get the engine back up to standard re-do the interior add a body kit and repaint. Possibly replace the 280 bumper. I only want one thing thats not stock besides the paint job and body kit and that is the exhaust i want a little perrrr with my ride. Dailey driver yes until out of collage.I want the car in top shape not showroom. Yes, I want metal fuel lines preferably, but rubber is fine.Does that cover your question or your need more.Sorry

yep i have 27 different threads in which i will be performing on my own most likley like further patch wielding besides that of which is already done and and swapping out the tranny for manual as explained by Arne. I also have a hanes guide on shippent just won the auction today AND I have the how to restore your datsun 240z etc book on order and rebuilding your Nissan OHC engine on order too. Along with an auction for an original service manual on watch so im am not just asking questions i am just asking honest questions.

I just want to have an idea of what to check when im ready ahead of time I want to clean out as much crap out of the car that I can while im working on it as I can get the best gas mileage and best ride. Im a noob so please dont mind my questions if they sound really slow.

Hey guys, I just have a few simple questions before i shop for needed tools. Is it true the 240s and 260s use metric tools? What type tools do i use on 280z metric or SAE? Where can i get a new gas tank for 280 or 240z stock? or do i have to clean out the one given? Is it good to replace the manafold when getting a new exhaust? What are some places in the engine that has the most sludge? Where can i get stock fuel lines? Can i do without sideskirts when installing a body kit? ex. 280z with bumper-less front spoiler and rear bumber. Thanks in adavance any response is fine with me.

Sounds like you'd be getting a story like dont worry the item will be shipped and never does or super late at an insanely high rate.
