Leave stock or not leave stock
Man that car looks nice! Keep her original, I'd even go so far as making sure you had the original wheels in the garage in case you go to sell her or take her to a show. I'm up for adoption if you need somebody to "will" the car toROFL Dwight '72 pumpkin that nees some TLC

Let them drive those cars whenever, whereever they want, I don't see them lasting more than 2-3 years on the production line. Nor do I see them ever becoming worth anything...... so let them drive them in the snow and salt so they can rust away and I wont have to look at them again. Dwight venting so early in the morning..... it isn't a good thing.

1971 240Z excellent condition
I sold a Z 10 years ago because I didn't have the time or the money to take care of her and the girlfriend at the time refused to ride in it with me....... It took me 10 years to get another one. It ate at me the whole time. D

steering wood and hornpad
Thanks Owen, sent you a PM. I'm now on the hunt for the horn pad (the one that says Datsun). Let me know who has one to get rid of on the cheap Dwight p.s. I'm surprised I have't gotten any smart alleck comments regarding the "steering wood" title in the first post.

steering wood and hornpad
I'm looking for the fake wood steering wheel and hornpad. I don't mind stripping the center of the wheel and repainting it if it needs it, but I'd like to get a hornpad without cracks in the back. Email me your asking price or post it here. Dwight

I'll make it a seventh! :classic: I can't remember a year where I personnally have had so much to be thankful for, tis has been a good one for myself even with all the little bumps in the road. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving ya'll!!!b Dwight '72 needs some TLC but she's mine

Smog Canister
They could be refering to the smog pump that runs on the belt line, lower right hand (passenger) side. It's pretty worthless but what can ya do. Dwight

350Z Commercials on the net ??
I saw the commercial and thought.... thats so and so's plate! I can't remembers who's it was though..... how about someone starting a thread with whoever's plates were used? I think it would be kinda cool. Dwight I watch TV via TIVO so I don't see too many commercials

my old project Z truck
Speaking from a purist' point of view....... that looks pretty cool...... it would be nice to see some better pics, esp from the backend. Dwight Keeping my truck so I don't get tempted to do that

saw the 350z
and as far as a Z....... I don't like it. I can see the evolution to the car....240-260-280-300-350. I don't think it is deserving of the Z name. With that said, it is a decent looking sports car but it doesn't look like it will hold up, it looks cheaply made. Just my opinion.

71 Gas Tank Into A 72
Are they the same??? I know, I know, buy the CD from Mike and that will tell me. I'll buy the CD as soon as the wife isn't looking (next payday). Meanwhile a localguy has a spare tank for sale and I thought I might try and sneak it into the garage depending on how much he wants. Dwight Gettin crafty to sneak parts into the garageROFL

badly oxidized
My new 72 is badly oxidized and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which compound would work best in trying to shine it up. It'll be a while before I can get it painted, but It like to clean her up for the time being. Dwight Zless no more!

wo hoo I'm gonna need to change my screen name!
I brought my new 72 240Z home today:love: The engine is running pretty strong, clutch is tight and the brakes are good. I'm going to have to drop the gas tank and have her cleaned out, po said that he has been changing the filter more often than should be done. U joints need some work, as well as a little body work (not as bad as one would think) a fresh paint (oxidized orange just isn't what I want) and some refreshing done to the interior. Overall I'm happy about the condition! My wife even took her for a spin and she now understands my obsession, I might have to hide the keys:cheeky: I'll post some pics to the gallery by next weekend. Dwight '72 240z as a sometimes daily driver that will slowly get "refreshed"

The things we do for Z money
I sold the naming rights for our firstborn to my wife for the Z money. That was just to buy the car, who knows what I'll do for the money to play with the car. Dwight

Bog/Bondo examples....
An arrest should be mad on the PO. I tlooks like they must have either let the car sit in salt water or something. I haven't seen rust that bad in anything outside of a junkyard! Glad you bought it as a parts car rather than to rebuild, that would have been very disappointing. Dwight

Need a smaller Z....
Check out Ebay, there are always Z models of different sorts available. Unfortunately they aren't always done to spec (IE different mirrors) but they are always there. I bought 2 really cool matchbox 240Zs (right hand drive) from a guy in Japan, one is the police car and the other metallic blue. I also bought 2 Revell models that they are now selling in the store. I'm glad I bought 2 because they come only in white and I SUCK at painting so I'm practicing on one. If you get one, give us a report on the quality and let us know how close to spec they are. wo hoo I'm gonna need to change my screen name!
Thanks for the congrats on both counts. I am more excited to be a Dad but, I haven't been working on that for as long as I've been working on geting the Z. I've had the bug for about 10 years since I sold the last one.... Zkid. The Z is a third car and I've negotiated long and hard with my wife for this, so it wont be going up for sale anytome soon. Part of the agreement is that I don't get to start working on it until I finish the home remodeling, at least I have 8 months to get that done . Dwight 2 babies on the way

280zone...... been checking in on the site for a while..... just waiting for it to get back up. Actually I'm glad the site was down while I was looking at the car.... you do a good job of posting the local sales and I was nervous that the ad would get extra publicity and I would lose out on the car. Can't wait to join in on a Z run. Dwight Arizona and Elliot area
