source for control arm pivot bolt
What blows me away is that we are supposed to be on the metric system for the last, ahhhhh, 30 or more years, and a place like Brofasco or Fastenal doesn't carry fine thread or a very "limited" stock of anything metric. Thanks for the offer, I will e-mail you later today, work called just now, they extra hands. Wouldn't happen to know where I can find 40057-21001 steering arm bolt found 1 in North America, 08124-04510 tension arm bolts need 4. I pulled the old and cannot fine a match yet. this is all I need to complete front and rear suspension. Dan

Early Ball Joints & Knuckle Arms
I ask as the ball joints I have were included with the puchase of the 72 but they don't seem to seat all the way, as I have done ball joints before. The knuckles are the originals. I just was looking for the correct part, good price. The parts have are labeled "autopart international" pn# 05260 k-9011 As yet I have not been able to confirm the application. Any ideas? I have done some quick search but nothing yet.

Junkyard & "Out to Pasture" Zs
Hey all, Up here in Ontario, good luck even finding any Z in a u-pull yard, and if happened to call or stop in on the right day, get what can, cause by the next day it will look like pirranhas got to it. Many yards already have a "secret" list of names and numbers to call if one happens to come in, getting on that list is tough. Back in the mid 80's I "had" a 74 260 (kicking myself now) and the u-pull had a whole section for Z's, I was like a kid at Xmas, a supply of fusible links that seemed endless(had an electrical issue). Anyways, seems you have to be quick up here. Dan

71 door fit 78?
Thanks guys, that's why I came here first. I wouldn't say dent free, 3 or 4 small ones and anice faded red. I'll keep it for now in case something should happen to the 72. Thanks again

71 door fit 78?
Just wanted to ask to make sure. I've talked to a gentleman about my 71 drivers door, which is rust free(don't ask me how I got that lucky) but has one bent hinge, working window, trim could use a makeover, but a solid door. I told him I'd ask here about a fair price and we agreed to go with what comes from you good people. I will print the results and show him. Next task is to talk to the guy down the street from me about selling the '80 anniversary edition 280 just sitting covered in the garage. thax Dan

ebay seller
Well, I expected some response, but this more than that. I thank you all, I had some reservations about dealing with him for some reason, glad I came here first and checked with you all. Once again I ask a question and get answers that are a tremendous help. Dan

Q-panel help
Well it so happens that the tabco panel I have has a very close match for the curved section around the rear to the bumper mount, (just out test fitting and and matching against my parts car), so if I do need to add a patch I should have all the pieces I need and won't have to fabricate too much myself. It's really to bad Tabco didn't make the effort to add about 4 inches to the height of their replacment and have the full bumper stamping, cause there is no way I have the metel shaping expertise to shape the indent that would look respectable and I'd be happy with.

Q-panel help
Well guys I have spoke with Allan a Wolf Steel and he has told me that they are going to start fabricating me a lower r/r q-panel with the full bumper indent (stamping) for a 240z, as with the one pictured it ends before the wrapping around to the rear, but he said he'd extend it enough and wrap it around and shape it enough for me to do the last bit of trimming and fitting. I talked to him for about 30 mins and he seems to be interested in making qualitiy replacment panels (tabco parts don't fit well at all, I have one and it would take much time and effort to get it to fit). I made a deal that if his panel is a good fit I would cut the same section from my parts car and send it to him so he can make them more accurate(good idea, bad idea?), for all to have available. It should be im my hot little hands in about 2 weeks. I know why don't I cut it out myself, I'm trying to avoid doing that. I'll let you know how it fits when I get it, keep your fingers crossed.

Q-panel help
Hey all, need some help here, I need the right rear lower section of the q-panel the section with the bumper stamping. I have found a place in Quebec, and have called and left a message. Thier listing on the part is for 74-78, would the shape and dimensions of the panel fit or be fitted to a 72. This is all I need before strip and paint. Maybe someone has one on a parts car that's not rusted to bad that they could neatly cut off;) I would cover all shipping. The website of the company is www.wolfsteelbodypanels.com Thanx for any help, Dan

parts list question
No problem Ron, I will be going over the list one more time to make sure I didn't miss anything. I'm also thinking of ordering double of everything and keep my fingers crossed that most are available and and whatever is not try and get at Brofasco. I wish I could find info on the grade of the different fastners and I think I would be able to get them all from Brofasco instead of going to the dealer. Oh well, the joys of restoration. Dan

parts list question
I knew I could count on you guys. Thanks Mike and Ron for clearing this up for me, I now see what is going on here, and yes flipping over my front diff member I see 4 spotwelded washers. Thanks again guys, and now on to the ordering phase as I would like to get all undercarriage painted and installed this year. No doubt I will be back asking questions at the next hurdle, hopefullly not too many of those. Dan
