Checked the addco.net website and am wondering if the mounting kit is in urethane or rubber? Here's a quote from addco.net. Thanks, Guycali

Are they for front or rear? What are their sizes? Pics would be nice. Thanks. Guycali

Hi all, Courtesy Nissan is having a sale on '79-'83 280ZX hatch struts where you buy one and get a heavy duty one free. Buy 1 get 1 free Are hatch struts interchangeable? If so, I can use them on my 240Z... Thanks, Guycali

If I'm working indoors in my garage with a concrete floor, do I still need to place plates underneath the jack stands? I'd imagine not but just want to be sure... -Guycali

I just got my 240Z and it's got brown exterior and tan interior. I'll be painting it silver for exterior and replace all interior panels to black. You're welcome to trade with me for the tan rivets as well as interior panels with the blacks. However, I'm not sure when I'll get to pulling them off as I need to complete the sprinkler system and finish the backyard first (new house). Let me know if you're not in a hurry and can wait for a while... -Guycali

Mike, you may want to consider have the chip repaired at an auto glass shop. I sent in my '91 Accord for a new front window replacement last time and saw an ad on how they can repair minor chips or cracks to good as new. Consider how much money a replacement hatch glass will cost you (unless you grab one from JY cheap), it may be a good idea to repair it before you reinstall it. -Guycali
  7. Congrats 2ManyZs! You have just acquired the very last set of 240Z Euro tail lights in the world. How do you feel? Would love to see them installed on a Z. Show us a pic when you're done please. -Guycali

Yeah. I too got a mail from Nissan about the VIN#00001. I wonder how many miles it had already put on during this time for all the publicity events and shows. Unless I'm mistaken and it hasn't rolled off the assembly line yet, it may no have that new car smell anymore, may have some scratches that are minute or visible, or it may have Mr. K's butt impression permanently set in the passenger seat (j/k). -Guycali
  9. Not sure if everyone knew this but sadly, VR Engineering is no longer in business. They've ceased to operate since June 20, 2002. I have a feeling that fewer and fewer Z-vendors will remain in business as time goes by, just like the ever so decreasing quantities on NOS parts. So sad... -Guycali

Yeah. GT2 does have a 1971 240Z ZG Fairlady in it. It's available in Nissan used car section around 20th day. It's also available at different times through out the game as well. It's priced at around $7K I think. I bought one and it was only available in White. Funny tho, it came with a 5spd tranny. . The gearing of the tranny in the game by default does not match with any actual gearing from real cars, 240Z to 280ZX. I'd recommend purchasing a full-customizable racing tranny ($11K) to get the correct factory gear ratios for the best simulation and realism. At 150hp stock, the car is dog slow... -Guycali

So does anybody make a dry sump system for the Z, especially the 240Z? I guess the most important question would be is there a low profile oil pan to cover up the crankshaft opening to be used with a dry sump system? -Guycali
  14. Does anyone know why there are two different colors for 240Z service manuals, 1970-72, orange and green? Are both of them the same or different? Printed by different company perhaps under authorization from Nissan? -Guycali

Would that be the same bumper as the European one? Where can one find a competition Nissan racing 240z bumper and how much does it cost? Thanks. -Guycali

Get on a rigorous diet plan for the driver too.

  18. Ever heard of "Atmospheric Supercharging"? Well, this guy claimed he had discovered the secret of success of BRE's triumph with 240Z, Atmospheric Supercharging. Is there really such a thing? Have you ever heard of it in any form or shape? Atmospheric Supercharging -Guycali

Is that a "work area" underneath your car? Geez, I'd would think it takes you at least 5 min to properly align your car straight before pulling into the garage. Did it cost an arm and a leg to have that setup in the garage?
  20. So is 16" the largest rim size we can put on a 240Z? Darn, and I was thinking of putting on either 17" or 18" rims (given that I convert it to use 5-lug hubs). Will the tires rub even with addition of IMSA fender or other wide body kits? As far as larger wheels weighing more... yes it's true but some weighs even less than smaller diameter rims. For instance, SSR Competition weighs 14.5lbs for a 18x8. Of course, that comes with a hefty price of $450ea. Do you think 18" rims are too big for a small car like 240Z? With wide fenders? Maybe... Too bad tirerack.com doesn't have a dynamic wheel selector for the 240Z. -Guycali
  21. Hi, Does anyone know if there's a difference between a NA and a Turbo Intake Manifold on the L28 engine? Which one is better suited for Turbo application (I assume turbo intake for turbo car but...). I think the NA manifold has an extra cold start injector. What does it do? BTW, know what "WOT" stands for? Oh and also, how much should I expect to pay for an intake manifold, NA or Turbo, in a good to decent shape? Thanks, -Guycali

Does anyone know if it's illegal to swap out oem speedometer with aftermarket ones such as AutoMeter due to odometer record? If it's possible to match the odometer reading from the old to the new, will that be ok? Thanks. -Guycali
  24. Hmm. Does anybody know if lexan glass is legal for street use, especially in California? Thanks. -Guycali
