Mmmm....love that smell of gas
Hi Craig, Like you, I have spent many hours trying to come up with solutions to stopping the gas smell on my 1970 Zed. I have done just about everything possible, with some varying degrees of success. The last thing I tried was to replace the non original rear hatch rubber with a factory spare, which has improved the situation considerably. The original replacement rubber was not cheap, but the reduction in gas smell is worth it. Cheers Dazza

Stolen Cars
Something I came across years ago, is still very effective today. It is simple, cheap and it works. Instead of just putting in a hidden switch that opens the circuit to one of the coil leads, to stop the car from being started. A better idea is to take it one step further and use this switch to not only open circuit the coil wire first-off, but to also provide a new circuit to the coil via a low amperage slo-blo fuse. The theory here is that the car-jacker will be briefly able to start the car, then when the fuse blows and it will not re-start, he will think it is a problem with the car and not an anti theft device and hopefully give up.

240Z in Malaysia
Hi there Trex, It is great to hear from another 240Z fan here in Malaysia. For the 4 months I have been here (in KL and JB), I have been actively keeping a look out for a 240Z, but have yet to come across any. During my infrequent short trips home (Australia), I make it a point of spending at least a full day touring and enjoying the drive in my 240Z, before it goes back under wraps in the garage. I would be interested to hear from you about the "local" 240Z scene. Cheers Dazza

Your Cars' Name?
Well, here I was thinking that my 240Z had a fairly unique nick; and then I read Leeroy's post, where his car has the same name as mine. Maybe us Zed people have more in common than we think MY car was named Zelda from the 60's TV show "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" in which one of the main characters was called Zelda. This name was also selected because of the few female names starting with "Z". http://www.tvparty.com/recdobie.html The above site has a pic of "Zelda". Cheers Dazza :classic:

Can anybody identify these wheels?
I am not overly positive, but do original Minilites have 10 "spokes" ? I have the same wheels on my car, which are a copy. 15x7 "Performance" Superlites http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=247&papass=&sort=1 Either way though, what you have, would definately be either Minilites or Minilite style wheels. A Joke - nothing more, nothing less.
Jay and his blonde wife live in Milwaukee, WI. One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 6 to 8 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." The blonde goes out and moves her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 4 to 5 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." The blonde goes out and moves her car again. The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park...", then the electric power goes out. The blonde says, "Honey, I don't know what to do."Jay says, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time?" :stupid:

1972 Colour Chips (Imports)
Hi John, Yes, the sticker on the body near the radiator does indeed list the colour as built. Sadly, as yours is un-readable, I am unsure myself of what advice I can offer. Tracking the colour code back by using the VIN may indeed be difficult at best. Maybe others here can be of more assistance. How many whites were there? Over to the experts, in this area. ............................... Also, as an after-thought, the paint chips here are of Australian manufacture and resultingly the paint code number should be the same for all export cars. What may differ though is name of the colour, so that it would be "more suitable?" for the target country. My cars' colour code is 918 which in the U.S. is "Orange" but here in Australia the same colour was marketed as "Kalahari Tan" (code 918). Cheers Dazza :beard:
