  1. The 'reaction time' is the amount time it takes from when the light turns green to when your front wheels break the beam. Where you place your wheel between the beams makes a difference, there will be a small amount of space from pre-stage to staged, then a shorter distance if you knock out the top light. It all comes down to practice, practice, practice in the real experience. Bonzi Lon

I fell in love with it when I was 8 from a magazine advertisement, always heard stories about that supercharger, never got to see car in person until my early 20's. Raymond Loewy was quite the designer. Bonzi Lon

Might try weed eater string in the larger holes, fill with carb cleaner while working the tool of your choice, may take several, small to larger. The return line has a smaller hole to keep the correct fuel pressure with the mechanical pump, do not alter the size of this hole. Bonzi Lon
  4. I made the 680 mile round trip to the Branson Z-Fest for the 5th time. A very unique 4 day event / car show in a fantastic location for spirited driving, let alone everything else going on in that town. The car averaged 26.8 mpg, the engine has 11k miles since the rebuild, 5k since the new rebuilt carbs. The 4 speed made it sound so nice at 3k to 3.5k rpm. Bonzi Lon

Yes, that is the color # I used for the grille, wheel covers and tail finisher, except mine got 2 light coats of clear matt finish. Toned the 'metalic' look down to where it is not noticable. Give that a try, see what you think. Bonzi Lon

In my opinion it is too yellow to be lime, yet too green to be lemon, so I just call it "tennis ball'. Bonzi Lon
  7. McPherson College in KS has a wonderful (prom) car show every year. This huge group of Cushman's came to the show as a club group. Some very nice cars were shown at this event. No telling what you will find in the center of the country. Always some very unusual and interesting things on wheels, some were on tracks! Bonzi Lon
  8. All of the trophys for the McPherson College CARS Car Show are made by the students. No two have been alike. Bonzi Lon

  11. Here is one of the threads I made upon my discovery of these stamps. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread21432.html Bonzi Lon
  12. On my newly rebuilt engine, 10k miles over a 4 year period, I've used regular 10w30 with a dose of my ZDDP of choice, www.cam-shield.com with a genuine Nissan 15208-43G0A filter, changed every 3000 miles on the dot. Bonzi Lon
  13. Absolutly positive. About a week after I bought it, the preveisouly unused ashtray was full and needed to be emptied. Lo and behold, treats for everyone present! Bonzi Lon
  14. I'll be the kid. The dead pedal was my first favorite thing. Every car I'd had before had the high beam button there. Remember them? It was so cool to have a sturdy platform for your foot, I thought 'how ingenious'. The second was the inspection 'light on a wire'. Pop's Buicks had under hool lights that came on when opened, but not one on a wire that could stretch ANY where under the hood. Another one of those 'how ingenious'. The space under the ashtray reveiled a lighter, pipe and a bag of very good weed. (1977) Bonzi Lon
  15. FSM page FA-21, Strut Assembly, Nut used to install the strut assembly on the body--18.1-25.3 ft-lb or 2.5 to 3.5 kg-m. Bonzi Lon
  16. Yes, the 73 had the thinner ones. If you try to use the wrong ones the linkages will not hook up properly. Bonzi Lon

I watched mine roll over in 1978. It just turned 29,XXX this past Sunday. Bonzi Lon
  18. Measure the one you have, there are at least 2 different thicknesses of carb insulators. Bonzi Lon
  19. The splash pan can also be a pain when removed and 5 of the 9 bolts break off! Bonzi Lon
  20. Are you talking about the flat rubber that goes between the handle and door? If so, I think they are NLA, however you could make them out of a used inner tube. Bonzi Lon

If I had a water blaster, I could get into a lot of trouble. Bonzi Lon
  22. Saturday was a beautiful sunny day for a car show in McPherson, KS. Not too many imports, however a nice Ferrari, 2 Porsche's away, had plenty of attention. One of the admirers was Wayne Carini, see photo. He went all over it with the owner and onlookers. It was a western KS barn find. He was walking down the sidewalk talking to another when his eye caught my car, stopped in his tracks and said, "Wow!" He walked over, introduced himself and started with the compliments. We talked Z car, Z history, my car, for at least 5 minutes. He was genuinly interested in the car and its history. The finest compliment I got from him was, "You even have the original wheel covers! Wonderful! Thats nice." Bonzi Lon

The braiding was rotting off of some hoses, so I removed the remaining threads, then satin black rattle can, the cloth impressions in the hose make it appear the cloth is still there. Bonzi Lon
  24. The air was just to make sure the tubes were open along with the wire. You might let the tank 'sun cure' when you can. Bonzi Lon
  25. Not much to worry about. There is no screen / sock, just open tubes. The pick up tube is about 3/4 inch off of the bottom of the tank, the return is further up. With a mirror on a stick, illumination through the sender hole and looking through the filler hole you can see the tubes over the baffle. When the sealer was curing I made sure and ran compressed air and a thick wire through each tube, just to make sure. The longer the cure time on your tank, the better. Bonzi Lon
