  1. Very nice. My bet is that you won't be able to keep your foot out of it. Bonzi Lon
  2. These cars have that affect on some women. I sent a photo of 'Tiny D' to little sis, she wrote a six word response, 'What is it? I want it.' Family dinners are the perfect time for her to ask if it is 'in my will' to her. Be prepared to hear the word 'cute' for first word impressions, quite often. Go for it, it will make BOTH of you happy. I bet she has shoes to match that purse. Bonzi Lon

Is there any oil in the damper, correct weight? Bonzi Lon
  4. Sorry about that. Missed the word "plastic" and what year car you have in your signature. Bonzi Lon
  5. I used paint stripper, that way I didn't have to try to remove the chrome surround without bending, or blasting to oblivion. Worked real well. Bonzi Lon
  6. [quote=EverRude;360561 So all in all I'm happy. BTW 3 screw carbs suck. There's a boss on side of carb body that prevents the float bowl lid from coming off and being installed with the float attached. WTH is with that? The 4 screws have no such boss and the float lids lift straight up without a need to remove floats first. Was it only on the rear carb? I had the same problem, could not get that lid off no mater which way I tried. Solved that problem by sawing off the offending ear. It appears the redesign for the 3 screw included using the same casting for both front & rear carbs, as this boss is on the other side for the choke bracket attachment. Tried to put photo in but couldn't, not like before. Bonzi Lon
  7. I would jump on it for that price. There are lots of parts you can use or sell, the carbs right off the bat to make up for the car, somebody wants them. Lots of spare parts that you don't know you need right now. Always nice to have a parts car. If you do get it, before leaving ask if there are any more parts, I got a 73 FSM that way. Bonzi Lon
  8. Welcome, nice car & paperwork. Glad to hear you are going back to original steelies and covers, there are so few of us left. I noticed the scan Arne posted calls it a 'leather top'. Any chance you have genuine bovine hide? Bonzi Lon

The plastic panels in my 73 looked just like yours, until I sprayed them with SEM Vinyl Dye '15103 Super White', they turned out great. Covers well, very tough. The staining on the tunnel is from the interaction of the glue and the fake jute / fake horse hair insulation under the vinyl. It may get destroyed when you take the vinyl off. The vinyl on mine was not as bad and cleaned up fairly well, but does not match the plastic. In time the rest of the interior will get SEM'd. (Still up in the air: white seats? or black seats?) The least expensive route to go, or think about. Use your black buckets and SEM the plastic & vinyl on the white parts, may not need to do the headliner. The blue plastic strip could be done in the exterior color. Just a thought. Bonzi Lon

I have this body style from first sight. IMO it is these 2 body lines that make the back end of the car. Bonzi Lon
  11. Courtesy Nissan has those nice chrome wipers, Part number, B6370-E4100 wiper blade, replaces B6370-00001. Less than $20 each 2 years ago. Bonzi Lon
  12. We had this argument several times in our Automotive class in high school, early 70's, when things were more simple. Our instructor would then tell us, "If you can TASTE a difference, then there is probably is a difference." Of course, none of us would taste them to see if he was right. Bonzi Lon
  13. Very nice car, soccer. Might check out Branson ZFest in early June, lots of Z's and fun. Bryce, we need to meet up at a show or something some day. Very big show at McPherson College on May 7th. After last year, it is now on my yearly calendar. I really like to think that my car was built on my 18th birthday, July 6, 73. The VIN's that I have collected so far point to it, or at least close. Bonzi Lon

My ZCON 10 name tag had my 'handle' on it, but I think it was an option on the registration form. The car always wears it's name tag up front. Bonzi Lon

  16. Hagerty wanted a mileage estimate, so I guesstimated about 2500 a year. They took the mileage and haven't asked again in 3 years. In the 3 years I have put on 8K, just 500 above the estimate, not bad. I go to shows usually within 100 miles, sometimes further, Branson every year. That trip to Nashville last year was the longest, 1750mi, not a single problem. I was nervous the whole time, worried someone or something would happen, relieved it didn't. Did I mention that huge bridge and river scared the CRAP out of me! Both times! Bonzi Lon

You are in the KC area, so I might suggest you visit Black Dragon Automotive in Lenexa, or online, www.BlackDragonAuto.com, they still have a paper catalog upon request 1-800-789-DRGN. You will save shipping costs if you go there. Then there is genuine Nissan parts from Courtesy. Maintaining, customizing upgrading,,,etc... is not cheap on ANY car. (unless you want it that way) Bonzi Lon
  18. Wonderful job. That white really makes the new beautiful blue interior POP! And the under-hood sparkles like a jewel. If you and Arne decide to meet, pick me up in Kansas, we can meet him in Denver. Then make a fine tour, Arne leading, you, then me, red white & blue. Bonzi Lon

There is a Z Club in KC, or was in 09, they were well represented at the Midwest Z-Fest in Tulsa that year. That would be a major hook-up for parts swapping. I know what you mean about no Z's around here. Seven years ago a salvage dealer stopped by and bought a junk car. He saw my dusty primered Z and asked if I needed any parts. I told him no, everything was there. He said 'good, I just crushed 22 of them last week'. Bonzi Lon
  20. I was able to find the large hose at my local John Deere dealer, fuel rated, 300psi, heavy enough not to kink. Bonzi Lon

Those 'things' on the Cobra are the pick up points to get the car off the ground during a race, front also. I'm sure some one has a photo of the lever tool in use. Bonzi Lon
