  1. Wasp spray will just make them mad until the chemicals take affect. You need to take them out instantly, carb cleaner or electric motor cleaner in a spray can does the trick. They are on the ground feet up before they have a chance to get mad. Bonzi Lon

I caught the last half and only saw the Z & the fiberglass front end, everything else was about products or projects, so the first half must of explained the build coming up. Bonzi Lon

  5. When I finished the refreshment in 2008, I took the car to the local grain scales. With me in it it came in at 2340 pounds. I weigh 140, no spare, jack, jack handle, chocks, less than 1/4 tank of fuel and all smog equipment removed. So, I figured it weighed 2250 or there about, just 6 lbs off of Blue's first estimate. It is titled at weighing 2500 pounds. Bonzi Lon

Have gone through this problem also. They are spot welded in 3 places, 2 on the drip rail and one on an inner piece of metal. Make sure it goes back in the same place so the strut operates properly & the inner panel cutout lines up. Spot welding the rear spot will not damage any outer paint, but the 2 on the drip rail will, so some paint repair, the weather striping will cover it. Bonzi Lon

To easy your worries, Courtesy is a Nissan dealership in the Dallas Metroplex that specializes in finding older Datsun / Nissan parts somewhere in their world system. They are very helpful, I have ordered from them many times. If it is not on the website, they will take a crack at it. Bonzi Lon

My tire store gave me one years ago. I bet if you ask your tire store for an unusable one, they would give it to you. I've made numerous things from that tube and still have most of it left. Bonzi Lon

I've always kept one behind the driver's seat, too big to go under & I know it is always there if needed. It uses Halon as the extinguishing agent. Bonzi Lon

The shaking my car had went on for some time until the problem was found. The ny-lock (self locking) nut at the top of the strut ( holding the shock rod to the insulator) had come loose and wobbled out the 'D' in the insulator and nearly wore the shock rod in half. It was found by raising & lowering of that corner & watching everything move, removing the little black cap showed the loose nut. Replaced shock and insulator, no more shake. Just a thought. Hagerty also. I knew before the car was finished they were going to get a call. Had to fill out a long form, current DD insurance policy, photos sent online. Was accepted a week later with the agreed value on the form. My DD insurance agent told me they could not come close to what Hagerty charges, they are specialists in that field. I raised the value this year on the Z without any problems and very little in premium. I've never had to make a claim, and hope I never do. The Roadster is on the policy, the 521 pick-up will be added when it is road worthy. Bonzi Lon

A trick used in the early to late 70's around here was to get the car horns off of a 6V system and hook it up to the 12V. Unusual sound and very loud. Honking the horn in front of a business that had a vibratory alarm system would set it off, they usually did this late at night. Note: They will burn out rather quickly if used for an extended time, but they do get attention. Bonzi Lon
  19. When I put a new one in, I did a side by side comparison to see if the angle was equal, it was. The tank was out of the car so I installed the old one and looked through the filler opening to see the float bottom about 3/4 inch off the floor of the tank. Installed the new one and the float was in the same position, so I did not bend anything. A NEW O-ring is a must to prevent a leak. Bonzi Lon
  20. Montezuma: Have you tried Dean at DatsunParts.COM Inc.- Datsun Roadster Parts he has helped me with Roadster parts. Hardway: My cousin David has a Shiro in his garage he someday will get done. We have all heard that line before, right? Zedyone: I'm about to ruin your day. In a secluded building, in a tiny town close to me, I can visit about any time, there is a 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce. Ran real nice when parked, except 3rd gear, for extensive body work in mid 80's, then burned out on the project. He is still not ready to sell, but time will tell. What I'm looking for now is a good stock carb for my 521 1600 pick up. Bonzi Lon
