Gasoline Fumes In The Car!?
I have spent so much time and money on the fuel smell problem and cannot find it. I can go months w/o smell and then it happens again. I have read all old threads on the subject and still have the problem after trying suggestions. Only solution is to roll down the windows, but you can still smell.

Someone ran into my car.
My constant fear is to have your experience. I am so fearful that I will try to park where I can see the car in the lot. If in a restaurant, my table must let me see the car. If I can't see, I will go out before done to make sure no one is parked next to it. My first z was totaled by a pickup in the rear end and I watch my rear view mirror, watching distances. My greatest fear that when fixed, it will never look the same. A car hit me in the fender and the paint didn't match because of oxidation. I am sorry for your loss. May the creep who did this, live in tormented hell.

Fume problem
I have an '81 280zx and sometimes I have a terrible gas smell and sometimes not. I have had three different mechanics check it and nothing is found. One put a dye in the gas tank and found nothing. I know that when you fill the tank, there are sometimes problems, but this is not the situation here. I would be grateful to anyone because it is a really frustrating problem

Special manifold and exhaust gives this beauty an unbelievable sound as you are driving with people turning their heads to see what kind of car sounds like this. The extra acceleration from the manifold gives a rear end down and nose up as you start forward and doesn't level out until cruising speed.. What a thrill to drive this bomb.

Thanks for the note. I just added the picture of my 77 and figured out how everyone puts their cars at the bottom of the message. My learning curve is starting to turn up. 1977 280z 1981 280zx

I owned an '81 280z in CA in the 1980's that got totaled and it broke my heart to walk away from it. The insurance company gave me over bluebook because it was in such good shape. I bought another '81 and a '77 last year and plan to buy a 240 this year to complete my collection. It has become my hobby and I am thrilled everytime, I drive one. My biggest problem is deciding which one to drive. The looks and comments I get are constant and yesterday I drove both to make my day complete. I shipped one car from CA and another from Texas, when I bought them. Most Z's in MI have gone to heaven because of the rust here so I have declared myself President of the Z CLub because I am pretty much alone here. If you are from the Lansing area, reply to this note so we can hook up.
