Hi, I've got a rear bumper, and the passenger side eyebrow. Both are dented to hell, but neither are particularly rusted, so they could be salvaged with beating/rechroming. Probably the same as what you already have! Anyway, I'd happily trade for any of the following sedan interior trim, if you have any spare - my A and B pillars trims, and sun visors are so sunburnt they dissolve on touch! I am also am SE Melb, send me a PM if you are keen.

It was 6 grand, and the seller was not responding to texts (he specified no calls) 5 hours after listing. The ad was pulled well within 24 hours :/ I'd be interested to know if a local managed to snap it up quicker than the exporters, but given the ratio of messages I got about the brown bomb I recently sold I'd view that as unlikely.

Seven years ago when I first got my c210 there were 4 of them at various local wreckers in Melbourne. 'Great,' I said. 'I'll never have trouble finding parts or panels,' I said... *forehead slap* With 240K's so scarce now even the worst example seems to attract a lot of attention these days. There are a couple of the 0 star bids in play at the moment have come from Saudi Arabia, so finalising payment/organising shipping etc has the potential to fall in a heap, but there are some Australian bidders in the mix as well.

$1000 was the offer, but there's no saying the buyer wouldn't then want to haggle once the auction was cancelled early. Been there a few times! Hopefully the car will stay local; the international half-cut industry fails to warm my heart these days.

I've listed one of the Datsun's I scored recently on ebay. It's basically an immaculate barn find. Actually, I did find it in a barn, but the second part of that sentence is not really true. It's had a pretty hard life. I pulled the gearbox from a wrecked rally car I bought, but have found the receipt for the work from Mammi Motors in Vic Australia: Strip second hand SR20det g/box Fit all gears into original Skyline L series housing Machine housing to suit Set up internal gear selectors to suit General repair $480 (+ all parts costs and GST in 2006). So that's a yes, some machining required of your L box to get the guts of the SR20 box in. But looking at the inexpensive cost of the work they didn't spend week after week on it!

Ah... that would explain why my eyebrows are bent every which way but the chrome hasn't cracked off... there is no chrome. It's not cheap, but your results look amazing for the money.

Dare I ask how much the repair/rechrome of the eyebrows set you back/who did the work. I have a bunch of K eyebrows, and there's not a remotely straight one in there!

My C210 uses a standard L housing with the guts scooped out of it and SR20DET internals instead... which is another path to consider.

I didn't notice this post before, but seeing the cats out of the bag, yes I did score the three 240K sedans - hence my recent spate of 240K related posts. The price got pushed up significantly from the initial $2000 by the time I got there due to the huge amount of interest and I only ended up with them at all by appealing to the seller's sense of patriotism I think. I'd have loved all the other Datsun's as well but 260C's are going to stay there, cool as they are, and the seller sold the C210 to Kuwait for a cracking $3500 before I decided whether I could really afford/house it. He knew where it was going, and wasn't shy about asking for some real dollars for it. The seller had found an Australian buyer for his coupe at well over $12,000. At this point, the forklift smashed sedan has already been dismantled, one is an easy restoration, and the other a... er, complex restoration. Might have to start a build thread!

I'm in Vic, but if you'd be willing to separate and send down the plastic bits (glovebox and surround, the vents above centre console etc) I'd make it worth your while! I'll probably pass on the cracked dash pad though - I've already got plenty of my own cracked dashpads, and leaving it'll take the sting out the shipping some!

It's a 7/75 model, with circular vents in the dash. Can't remember if the square vent style was earlier or later!

Hi all, I need some sedan interior trim: dashpad, underdash trim/glovebox, control stalk surround and A and B pillar trim. Like everyone else here I can pay using old-world money (or some damn delicious homebrew), but to make it all fair-and-square I thought I'd offer some of my own parts cache: I have a lot of good assorted C210 interior, and a few random good (also downright awful/restorable) bits and pieces of 240K (sedan door skins, centre console...) I have a mountain of generic L series mechanical too if you keep munching through half shafts/diffs or whatever. Lemme know if anyone is keen for swapsies.

I have a bunch of spare 240K tow bars if Hoybo doesn't want to part with it. What a lovely clean car! It'll come up a treat.
