Hi, Anyone keen on a 240k chassis? No (salvageable) panels, no suspension, no wheels, no interior, no glass, no engine, box or running gear. A little rust in the bottom of the quarter panels, floor and sills ok though. You'll need to winch it onto a truck. It's in Melbourne. Reply quick or it goes to scrap. Cheerio. D
Hi all, I am rebuilding the brakes of a 240k. I am struggling to find much in the way of stuff advertised as 240k/c110, but have a strong feeling that wheel cylinder kits/master cylinder kits/sumimoto caliper rebuild kits etc are probably common to a bunch of other Datsun models. Anyone know what brake/clutch items are common, and which are K only? Cheers, Drew
Hi guys, For those not doing anything Sun 15th come to New Quay, Docklands, Vic for the Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club show and shine between 9.30 and 3.00. Plenty of interesting early Skylines, Z's, Fairladys, Princes and 1600's. Sadly 240ks are a little thin on the ground at the club... I'm sure no-one would begrudge anyone considering joining the NDSOC parking their K (before 9.30) alongside the member's cars and getting to know the other members on the day. You'll find me with my C210 - short of me breaking it sometime in the next week. Hope to see some of you there. Cheers, Drew
Cars like this one often go for around 4500 Kuwati Dinar, or about $24,000 Australian. http://www.q8hp.com/4Sale_cars_240K_GT_Skyline'77-BLGM.htm Four doors are more popular in Kuwait than 2 doors. The 2 door is refered to as "the cow", and obviously no-one wants to be stuck with a cow. Most of the 240k's that left Australia for the Middle East were registered as RHD cars in Dubai, converted to LHD in Dubai using German or Lebanese dashboards, driven across the boarder into Kuwait, and re-registered as LHD vehicles in Kuwait. After that it's time for the burnouts.
N1GTR, a moderator for the skylines australia website is desperate for a 240k coupe project if you decide not to reclaim it for yourself. Sounds like you've missed owning it though!
Hi mate, I have a friend restoring a 240k sedan here in Melbourne. He is after a decent boot, bonnet, tail-lights and the garnishs for the front guards. If any of the gear from your car is still available please let me know. Cheers
I run English 2 inch SU's on my L26. From experience they provide very similar performance to the Hitachis and DAF carbs. Apparently some of the aftermarket internals are made of plastic, and will wear out over time, so stick with genuine SU parts if you ever rebuild them.
