Throttle Linkage Improvements
I've also drilled a small hole the size of those small ''straw'' tubes from the inside out of the plastic caps of the linkage to squirt PB blaster or other lube. Worked for me, don't get throttle hang up any more.

1971 Fairlady Z one owner on CL
I have two Nissan Fairlady brochure booklets, both are in Japanese. I got one on leave in Japan, in Nov. 1971, A 12 page brochure. It showed 6 options for the Fairladys. the 240ZG, 240Z-L, 240Z, FairladyZ-L, & FairladyZ. A rally clock, radio, chrome rimmed headlight bucket lenses, rear defogger, rear spoiler, & hubcaps. For the 70 Fairlady 432Z, FairladyZ-L, and FairladyZ they had 12 pictured. 8 track, foot rest, spoiler, rear window defogger, bumper overriders, side lower racing stripe, what looks like black vinyl top, custom exhaust tips, rectangular fog lights, radio, rally clock and two others showing lower doorway opening aluminum strip, and the flasher button on the turn signal. Also showed 7 colors.

the winter from hell
Up here it's "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes." We've had more than 3-1/2 times more snow this winter, than last winter.

Fairlady ZL Help!
Hi Guys and Gals, I need help getting my 10/69 Fairlady ZL back on the road this spring. Currently she covered up out in the cold waiting to be fixed, I'll start as soon as it warms up, if it ever will. The clutch went and I'm gonna need some parts. I've replaced the clutch in my 218hp. 240Z back in 94 with a CenterForce II, it's still going strong. I don't think I'll need a high performance clutch for the Fairlady, a 200hp. 5-speed. I'll need the clutch, pressure plate, maybe a flywheel, throwout bearing & spring, needle bearing, and all the rubber gaskets & boots for the tranny. Any suggestions? In case I have to write to Nissan, I wrote to them years ago c/o 17-1 Ginza 6-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Can they still be reached there? I heard they moved their Headquarters. Kats....anybody? thanks....Fred

Reasonable Genuine Nissan parts for Datsun 240z
Check your local Nissan dealer, back in 2000 when I restored my 72, I was quoted prices for fenders $275 to $375 each from a Dealer that was suggested to me. Talked to my local dealer, North Coast Nissan, was charged $175 each. They arrived 3 days later in Nissan boxes, wrapped in Nissan printed plastic bubble wrap. Another time I purchased the throttle & choke cables for my 10/69 Fairlady ZL, was shipped just the choke, they accepted the return. Usually my Dealer can get any part, but sometimes their out of stock or NLA.

Spindle Pin Woes
Replaced the pins on my 72 back in 94, installed new bushings, not too much of a problem. I'm going to tackle the 10/69 this spring.

Not bad, like the color, have to start the restoration on the Fairlady this year, or I'd have twin Z's.

Thinking of selling my Z... I have the GTV bug REALLY BAD
My first choice for a dream car would be a mid 60's Ford GT40. 289 w/302 head, 203 mph, down the strait @ Lemans. A beautiful car, however I'd keep my 240Z & Fairlady Z.

Blue... the Z I bought new in 6/72, the 3/72 that I now own, plus the 10/69 Fairlady all have the same steering wheels, except the Fairlady having no slots. However if I remember. the 5 speed gearshift knob is darker.
