What the hell is this???
I am not a huge fan but that yellow one looks like a nice job.

One minute all is well, next no more car!
We had a 7 day Tour down in Tassie and unfortunately a lesser experienced driver thought he could go just as fast as me around the corner. All I saw in my rear vision mirror was a red flash sail off into the trees. Fortunately he walked away but could have easily been fatal had he hit one of the large trees he glanced. Lesson, always drive within your capability.

Does anyone have headlight covers on a silver Z?
So do any of you guys have a contact for the guy in Japan who makes these headlight covers to suit a G-Nose? I am real keen to get my hands on a pair. Unless someone on this site has a set they would like to part with. I might live down under but realise that if I want a set I will have to get them from overseas somewhere. Any leads would be much appreciated as half a dozen guys over here want a set. Cheers

Locking in the R200 LSD nice and tight. No more movement or vibration at full noise. This replaced the old chain method. Cheap but not quite as effective.

street flares vs works/semi-wors flare widths?
A bit too loud for my likeing. Definately an aquired taste and yeah still not a bad price. I do want those head light covers. Does anyone one know where they come from? Or are they just a myth now. For the record I have 9" mags on my F & Rear. So the offset on that car must be huge and unecessary and still don't fit under the guards!

My 240z is finally home..New photos
Yep looks great. Always a load off your mind knowing that the panels don't have any rust in them anymore. Well done and a classic colour too.

new member-exhaust fumes in interior ???
Well it's the age old question. Your new car sounds nice. But the fume problem is a univeral one. I think the fumes actually get sucked in through the rear hatch of the car when the window is down. When my window is up I get nothing. I have searched high and low and tried everything and concluded it is the rear hatch. I brought some inch wide or there abouts and 5mm thick single sided sponge rubber tape on a roll. I stuck this to the top of the hatch where the rubbers would seal or touch the hatch. To close the gap. This definately reduced the fume problem. Also I would be sealing up every nut and bolt hole in you rear of the hatch including floor etc. I cut small pieces of aluminum and siliconed them over these misc holes. Quick, easy and cheap. Even over the two large bolt holes between the rear struts. Hopefully the rea lights are sealed pretty well and you should get rid of 80-90% of the problem.

Does anyone know what these are?
Sounds a nice car. Yes if you have coil overs you will be able to fit 17 x 9"s all round like I have. I have 255 wide tyres on the back but only fit 235mm comfortably on the front. I have now flared my guards by 20mm front and rear and will now be able to get 275 and 255 on my car. Just confirmation of what will fit on your Zed.

Diff mount upgrades - R200
Ha nice one. Yeah took a lot of work but the nose came up pretty well and the side vents seem to suit the front as well. As for the "O" well this was the first site I ever logged onto so using my full name was pretty cheezy after looking at others, but too late to change now. Took my car in this morning and showed the guys all those pictures. So hopefully they will come up with something similar from mounting my rear end. Great site I would never have come up with those ideas and I don't know of any Zeds in Australia with a rear end like that one above. Awesome.

Diff mount upgrades - R200
That makes sense Darrel. Looks like I won't be able to put one in anyway since I have a 95 ltr Alloy tank that is about 3" away from the standard diff mount. No airflow past this as well. It all might get a bit tight for my liking anyway. I will stick with the new brace and see what I can do to replace the standard moustache bar. I printed your link off as well to keep the ideas flowing. I will post up the finished product when it is done in a week or two.

Diff mount upgrades - R200
Wow that is a nice rear end. Nearly as good as this chick's I saw down the beach on the weekend. Question do you think those finn's really make that much difference to the oil temperature? I presume that's what they are for.

Diff mount upgrades - R200
Hey thanks for the tip Darrell. That is most of the info I was after. I should be able to copy some of their work onto my car. Cheers

Diff mount upgrades - R200
G'day from down under. I just got another R200 LSD (3.9) which is going in the car next week and wanted to upgrade the standard mount to eliminate the vibration at full throttle. At the moment I have the usual cheapo chain over the diff but figure that I need to go the next step since my chev is pumping 540 hp through the Zed at the moment. Any suggestion on upgrading the moustache bar with a plate or solid mounting the front of the diff? I have read some stuff on this site but was hoping to gather some more info. thanks

Wind tunnel testing on the S30
That sounds like an awesome project. I would love to see the results. I have always wondered what the stats might be and what would work best.

How often do you drive your Z?
I drive mine around once a month. Usually to car events or track days. It's a bit of apain driving around town stopping at lights every 2 minutes. So the weekender gets a run on the open roads. Oh plus the usual running around for some more work/improvements. Still a work in progress.

Nice looking Zed but a shocker as far as the rear wing goes. In reality it probably wouldn't acheive much of what it was put on there for.

Anyone know this 240z with a V8 in Berkeley
Looking at the Headers I reckon it would be lucky to have 350hp.

Light covers or not?
I like the look of the head light covers and like someone said they do assist with the aerodynamics. If you are sprinting your car on the track some sort of cover is mandatory in Australia. So that solves the problem. I have a G-Nose on my car and can't seem to locate any covers for my car. If anyone knows where I can get them from even overseas then please let me know. I have a set of the old style but non that fit my new front.

Sound / insulation
I have a V8 in my car and used to find it very loud inside the car. I lined the whole floor with black foam rubber about 15-20mm or half inch thick under my carpet. Even did the fire wall. Then I brought a blank foam matteress about 4-6" thick and proceeded to stuff it into ever pannel in the car from the rear quarters, side walls, even under and behind the consol. Now the car is ever so quiet not to mention keeping the car a little cooler on those summer days. Plus I plugged up every hole in the rear quater and fire wall which also stopped any fume problems. All this worked fantastic for me and pretty cheap. Good luck.

Sourcing new 3.90 R200 VLSD...any suggestions?
Let me know if you find one in Australia as I too am after an R200 LSD 3.9 diff. At the moment I am running a 3.36 LSD R200 but want a smaller ratio so I can improve my times on the track. Good luck as I am keeping my eye out over here. Cheers

L-88 HOOD
The car is a bit out there but the front shot looks great. The bonnet scoop looks pretty natural the way you incorporated it into the original bonnet. If you love the Zed but want something a little different they you certainly did that. Looks a nice clean car and good paint. I don't mind the odd modification my self as long as it's not over done. I think you have gone to the edge but kept it acceptable to more than 50% of Zed fans.
