  1. Serious rubber indeed. Anyone care to guess on what type of rims those are (Riken mesh?), and are those 16's or 17's? I suspect they're 17's. Ceers, Paul
  2. I was always disapointed in the Franklin Mint models. The kyoshos are exceptional! Well worth their $75-80 price tag.
  3. JC, Actually Carl just replied to my email. Thanks. Paul
  4. There's a Z in FLA I'd like him to look at before I purchase it. I have contacted him at his email address on Zhome, but I wonder if he checks it at all. Thanks, Paul
  5. I just sent you an email to the "dunlap" address. I would like to see some photos and get some information. Thanks, Paul
  6. Subject line says it all. Is it fairly straight forward? Cost implications? Thanks, P
  7. The car is located in Jacksonville,FL. I am located in Detroit, so I would appreciate someone "examining" this Z for me. Please email directly if you like. Paul
  8. Marty, If I recall correctly, your from the chicagoland area. I've come across a clean 73 240 on ebay. The guy hails from libertyville and is said to be a member of the windy city z club. If you've seen this car in the flesh or know the owner, I'd appreciate any input or thoughts on the z. Thanks in advance! Paul http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1824842951
  9. No offense, but don't you think those are a little "ricey"? And btw, those idiglo's really take a toll on your eyes in a short time. Just my $.02

Different tunes for different vibes: Stuck in traffic in morning: jazz/classical Coming in late to work (no traffic/no cares): Led Zeppelin Cruising in the sun: Zeppelin/Cream/Yardbirds In the rain: Classical/Pink floyd/ Various acid house-electronic Out on the town saturday night : Paul Oakenfold/other trance/electronic artists Saturday/sunday morning hop in the country: some old school country (but only for about 5 minutes, then back to some bluesy rock) I can honestly say I listen to everything BUT death metal and rap.
  11. That's right, Marty; I have no issues with distance when it comes to shopping for the right Z; I bought my second Z sight unseen from Arizona when I was 19 (a rust free 70 for $2,000). After selling it in college (reluctantly ) I've been hunting on collectoronline for either a clean 240 or an older 911. Of course, about 6 mos ago I came across a spotless 3 owner 71 with 34,000 original miles for $4,800 that was just down the street, but my 94 Mr-2 prevented me from buying it Thanks for the tips guys. Paul
  12. engine. so the hunt continues for a z:(
  13. right exterior. notice the absense of the c pillar vent
  14. Thanks all, for the response. This confirms my suspicions that the car is overpriced. I was thinking it was only worth $4,500-5,000, especially with the odd floor repair and condition of the door. heres a few picks........ Regards, Paul

  16. Hello all, I've located a 71 in Texas that appears to be pretty clean and well cared for, and I'd like to get some thoughts on the potential value of this car. The stats: 71 240 2nd owner purchased in 84 Bare metal resto in 90. Rust in floor area removed, replaced with metal from a 240 parts car's roof section. Original SU's and head with 280 block approx 15,000 miles on engine. Engine clean, but not immaculate. 5 speed A/C, but requires a new dryer(?) Interior very sharp Exterior very sharp EXCEPT for a slight fracture in the paint where the B pillar meets the door and a spot of rust developing on one of the hatch vents. Rebuilt suspension with urethane bushings. The car appears well cared for and the owner is asking $7,500, which I feel is a little high. Some thoughts on the price, as well as the floor replacement subject and A/C issue would be appreciated. Also, if anyone is in the Austin area, I would like to know if they are familiar at all with the car I'm describing. Please email me for specifics. Regards, Paul
