Top End Performance triangulated rear strut bar...
Hi Jon I was at Ralley/Sport talking with Jeff Winter yesterday. And what you have said is pretty much what he said. It was great to talk with Jeff and know there is a shop close by that knows Datsuns. For the rear roll bar he was talking about 1k for a install 2500 for a full cage and after seeing some of the work he had done I can understand the price I do think 1000 for the rear part is a little steep but it was tight to the body and very clean. Sorry I didn't mean to hijack . Cethern

Top End Performance triangulated rear strut bar...
Ron I found their site for some reason it would not come up under a google search...Anyway I like both bars. With the front frame bars those will take away a lot of the force from the bluk head bars to where it looks like it will have less of a chance of bending that area. In one of their pic's I saw where either PDK or the owner of the car made the bars work with camber plates. For me thats the way I will go when I'm ready for strut bars. To bad the rears are only for a 240. I guess the inside in a 240 is more narrow than a 280.. For the rear bar I will most likely use TEP. Unless the I get the roll bar made to brace the strut towers. On a side note I use Firefox but I have had a problems with it not connecting to where IE 6 will. That gets old it could be my connection or something with my setup. Cethern

Top End Performance triangulated rear strut bar...
Ron could you give a little more info about the PDK fabrication bar. I like the idea of a strut bar but if I were to add camber plates I don't think that will work very wel if the bars are bolted to the struts

What is the name of this song??
This is the last place I would think to see Sonny Rhodes name come up. I saw him last year here in Denver at a little Blues bar called Ziggy's. That was a fun night, Sonny was fun to talk with and the Blues was even better.

I have looked at getting the front and rear from them. I have also read that some ppl are having a time with the fronts not fitting. There is a thread either here or Hybridz.

I have seen those wiring schematic on ebay and have given some thought on getting one, I not sure they have one for a 75 though. I'll have to take a better look when I come across that listing again. Thanks for giving us a review.

Sitting high in front and low in rear.
Hi Bill Did you get a chance to look for Topend Performance? If Not here's a link for them. Mr.jmortensen brings up a good point, I personaly feel the Poly spring pocket bushing would have no effect on the strut other than being harder to compress. I would take my thoughts with a grain of salt I'm new to Z cars for past few years I have been building 4x4 F-40's AND K5's and Mr.jmortensen has many more years at these fun cars than I do. http://www.racetep.com/INDEXX.html http://www.racetep.com/datsun7.html Hopefuly that works Eric

Gas tank Question
EScanlon: you bring up some good points to ponder. I had a local Mec. knowen for Z cars look at the tank his first thought was a dent as well but the ones there are not bad, small over all but your point about a baffle could hold water. When I stated the 10.4 gal my OD was reading 150. +/- at the time when I fill the tank I go to the top. I have gotten a little over 200 mpg mostly hiway. But either way still the same spot on the gauge about 1/4 Now before I took this little gem home I took it for the second test drive and the gauge was well below where I get it now. on that test drive I put 5gal in it and after I took it home (the same day) I put another 10gals. in it. My thought is there is a lot of crud in the tank and when I get down low enough the crud has less room to float around and the pickup gets it. when I stop the engine the the crud is no longger being sucked up. and after I restart I'll get a little ways down the road before it happens again. I have changed the filter The gas that came out was rust colored. Right now I will still try and get that tank on ebay and get my 72K5 up and running so I can pull the tank right now the car is the only mode of trans. I have given thought to pulling the drain plug and see if that helps get the crud out even for a little bit. Eric

Gas tank Question
Thank you for replys EScanlon: The tank does not have any big dents to warrant using only 10.4 gals out of a 17 gal tank. but I have given thought to the pickup tube broke off. But when I lose power and die on the side of the road. Then restart it to where it runs for a few more miles has me thinking the tank has a lot of rust. 280~Master: Thanks for that info I need to read the FSM a little more I guess And I'll let that other tank I have a bid on go by if I'm out bid that is. I need to hit the Bone yards and look around some. a few that I have called are out of tank..must of rusted away Eric

Gas tank Question
Hello I have a 75 280 with I'm sure a lot of crud in the tank as I only get about 150miles per tank and fill with 8/10 gal at a time. Now I have done a search and I have not found what I'm looking for yet. My question is...I have found a 77 280 tank on ebay will that fit in my 75? From what I can tell it should. I would pull the tank and get it cleaned and coat the inside. But the little car is a daly driver. Thank for the input Eric

new rear wing available with pics!

Sitting high in front and low in rear.
what about your rear spring rubber being wore out? Top End performance has polyurathane spring rubbers. I was reading their add and they talked about the droopy butt being from the old rubbers just being wore out. Eric

Bad Compression test results
I just checked mine this week and I had 135 for 5 and one at 140. this was done cold and dry with the throttle wide open. With as far as I know a Stock motor. I'm off to do a search and see what stock should be... Eric
