I was thinking on asking 75$ for the pair I have, but then they need some work but the frame is good..
  2. Thats a heck of deal Dave!! Ian I'm sure it has to suck to gut your old ride, But as others have said you'll have a fresh start with the car. And it seems you and Dave have some plans already in the works for the new one.

I made mine as well, As for telling a differance I'm not sure I can but you can hear the thing sucking air. I got a 3in Polished Alum tube from a local speed shop for 20$ and a cone filter from Auto Zone for 30$ I think it was. Eric
  4. A couple of things come to mind. Here in Colorado they used to add MTBE to the gas for polution reasons. I'm not sure they still do or not I have not seen the stickers on the pumps lately. When the winter season would come around and the MTBE was in use ppl would complain about the fuel mileage. My next thought is with the cold temps the gas is "Thicker" and we don't get good vaporation... hey it was just a thought..
  5. Thanks Steve for the link to Banzai Motorworks I don't have that one on my home puter. Wow 92.00 for a NOS shifter knob. Go240Zags. You brought up something I didn't think about. As in if I have the room I should get some spare panels and stuff that rust away. I can see it now I'll have my own Z junk yard in a short time. Eric
  6. My buddy makes fun of me when we come out of a yard as I have picked up a few loose nuts and bolts.. . I don't have a stash of Metric bolts like I used to when I had a FJ-40. I mite have to make a run to sidewinder and get a few things..before they are gone. What is Mondays weather going to be like?
  7. Speedway towing will sell the car. And they want the over priced tranny. Sidewinder wants the 70$ for the tranny. I have not asked them about the whole car. Do you have to have dealers thing to sell a salvage car? And why is it that every in every junk yard that I have been into all of the shifter knobs are gone? The Blue one in Steves pic someone cut the shifter just to get the knob...Some where in Denver there is a kid with a butt load of knobs...

Art I signed up for two years and ordered a Shirt.. Thanks Eric
  9. Very nice! Thats a great buy.
  10. Steve That blue 77 has alot of parts like a splash pan and a early 5spd and some white mesh wheels. The guy at the yard told he would sell the tranny for 350 but the whole car for 700. And like you I don't have a lot of room here at my Apt. It would be nice to have a whole car for my tranny swap that way I get everything I need... Sidewinder will sell a tranny for 70$ with a 10$ core. And for some reason I never thought to bring a digi cam with me..:stupid: Eric
  11. If this is the same yard I was at about two months ago that Z is gone. But there is a 77 280 in not bad shape in it's place. Sidewinder has a 77, 79, 82, and one I'm not sure of the year. Eric
  12. When I had it, I lived for Sundays on Spike tv, Speed tv, Overhauling..

Well I'll go back to plan "A" with "B" tranny. One last question for now and that is, Is there a differance in a 240 pedal assy to 75 280? I'm only guessing that this car was a 240/260, Once again thanks for your imput. Eric

Thanks for the input guys. After reading these posts and talking with Jeff at Rallye/Sport I'll pass and get a Z tranny. Victor I was under the impression that the tranny for sale was a Nissan Comp tranny. On a side note I picked up a pedal assy. and the hardline a 15/16 MC and some seats from a junk yard today. The Z I got a lot of this from at first look seemed to be a 280 but with build date tag gone and it having a FI and not carbs had me. I now think it's a 240 maybe a 260 The head was a N42 it has bigger sway bars front and rear with the rear in front of the R200 and a few other goodies. Once again thanks. Eric

I'm planning on swapping out my auto for a 5spd in my 75 280 in the end I want to Auto-X and maybe some Time trails but the car is and will be driven on the street. Although I would like to go with a turbo but for now I stay N/A This morning I'm off to the junk yard to pull the pedals and hard line for the clutch and few other thing like a bigger MC for when I go with bigger brakes. Anyway I have some leads on trannys but the other day I found this listing in some 510 parts for a dogleg tranny. Would any of you have any imput on these I did see one post that talked about them. http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/236860258.html Thanks Eric

I wonder if that was Bob he owns a shop but not a body shop. He knows Z cars. On a side note I had a friend call me about a 240 he saw down by Park medows mall that was for sale I have a number if anyone would lke to call on it. Eric

    And only 1200. Not bad...
  24. Your new ride looks like a very good start. How is the rust issue, hopefuly not bad at all. Oh and Welcome from Colorado. Cethern
  25. I went out and looked at my 75 280 This is not dead on but close and I took mine from the outside of the bolts 6 to 6 is 33.5 12 to 12 is 37.5 3 to 9 is 37.5 When I get some extra hands and more lighting I'll get from the center. Maybe in the morning when I get off work.
