Alternator Electrical Connections
but what about the 4th wire (at top of photo, APPEARS in the photo to be resting on top of braided hose) this connector looks like it has a resistor? or fuse? or something... does it go on the same connection as the black? Is it a ground?

If you can help, please see my thread (same title) in Electrical forum. I want to drive the car to the welder this weekend...

Alternator Electrical Connections
2nd pic One of the connectors appears to be part of the hose that is underneath it (at the top of the pic). It kind of blends in in the pic, but obviously is not part of the braided hose.

Alternator Electrical Connections
After (finally) getting the broken bolt out of the alternator mounting bracket, I'm ready to proceed with installing the new alternator. When un-installing the faulty alternator, I failed to document/draw what connected where. I figured, (go figure), that it would be easy to remember. Two of the wires go on the engine block side of the plug, the plug plugs in, and the remaining wire connects on the opposite side of said plug. The Haynes manual doesn't help a novice like me, since I don't read elec schematics. Any/all help appreciated. I'm posting a pic of the back side of the alternator and a pic of the four connectors. Thanks!

Thank you President Clinton
I agree to disagree, and vow not to open this thread in the future. It's been fun.

Yellow Lowering Springs
I have ST springs, bought last spring. They're dark grey.

Thank you President Clinton
The article states that it was probably an "inside" job that resulted in the loss of the most valuable items. No way could we have stopped that, given the situation. Gosh, I'm really sorry that the Presidents' top cultural advisor quit. Maybe he can narrate bus-top tour rides through downtown Chicago, or clean stalls at the Kentucky Horse Park. The museums were not bombed. The museums were looted by hoods. If American GI's were filmed shooting the looters, we would be spending a helluva lot more time discussing/debating that. 5,000 year old bronze battle helmet... pretty? yes, interesting? yes. But priceless? I could swear that all of the victorious soldiers were wearing Kevlar helmets, thereby rendering the bronze worthless. It still amazes me that President Bush-haters will cling to ANYTHING to disparage the man. The Dems LOST the election, fair and square.

Thank you President Clinton
Unbelievable... this thread has come full circle. It was President CLINTON who fell down the stairs at PGA golfer Greg Norman's Florida mansion. The way the media covered it, it appeared that it was late-late night/early morning, and he was tanked. Didn't he break his leg?? President Ford played Division I football at Michigan (Muck Fichigan). I think he played center.

New Z part 1
I've been waffling about what color to paint my Z, and after settling on black for a month, I decided against it. Now I'm rethinking it again. Great car.

Any experience w/ Paint Remover?
My current paint is "chalking" through. In cases like this, I'm told by several people of whom I respect their opinion, it's best to take it all off. This is due to the fact that fresh paint won't stop the chemical reaction that causes the chalking.

Thank you President Clinton
You said it all by stating that the Nazi's (invaders) did it. The French didn't loot their own museums; nor did the coalition pillage the Iraqi museums.

Thank you President Clinton
Hospitals? absolutely should have been protected. Hospitals = health and life. Universities and Libraries? Borderline. Protect if the mission is not compromised. Museums? Protecting artifacts is ludicrous when you're busy trying to avoid getting shot.

What have we done to deserve this?
Sounds like a great show; will she share her "technique"? Mandatory viewing for the wife. :devious: The wife might have different ideas though.:tapemouth I only hope it's not on at the same time as Monday Nite RAW. Goldberg rules. Side note: I'm ashamed to admit that I watched most of the 2nd season of the Batchelor.... never again. ... there I fessed up, and I feel better.

Any experience w/ Paint Remover?
I've been sanding and sanding (and sanding) with an orbital sander. Started w/ 100 grit, and out of impatience, fatigue, boredom, moved to 60 grit. Not much faster, but etching into the steel. With over 75% of the vehicle yet to do, I'm inclined to use paint stripper. I tried some on my donor 73 as an experiment, and it seems one helluva lot easier/faster. Any advice /warnings?

After such a convincing victory in Iraq, (and YES, I think it is time to claim victory), I thing President Bush is flexing a bit. I think he wants to see how these rogue countries react NOW when they think he means business. Is Syria a threat? For a terrorism hotbed, heck yes. The problem is, if we invade Syria, the terrorists move to Jordan, then to Egypt, then to Saudi, then to_________? But what the hey, we can rebuild the Twin Towers in Lebanon, ...when we get there. :nervous: I think public opinion, including my own this time, would prevent the administration from pursuing Syria. UNLESS, there exists some significant proof of wrong-doing. Besides, aircraft carriers are being sent home, jet fighters have already begun to come home (50 - 70 per week), and deployment orders have been cancelled for 1000's of army/marine types.

I think you septic tanks might like this one
3 of Saddam's body doubles were in a small meeting room, when Tarik Aziz, the Iraqi Sec. of State (?) entered. He announced to the 3 that he had some good news and some bad news. The good news was Saddam had survived the latest attack directed specifically at him. Therefore, all 3 were still gainfully employed:D. The bad news was that Saddam had lost one of his legs:ermm:

You stated: "Do they like what Bush did recently, no! do they feel that going there for protecting your country from a potential threat was a plot? yes! " that's what I'm referring to as an agenda. This is not an attack on you personally.:classic: Seriously though, an overwhelming majority of Americans feel that the French people hate us/our gov't. Is that perception correct? If so, why? Where/when did you live in Cincy? I work in Cincy.

It's not over till it's over. Chris, Canada did not try to veto the use of force; nor did Canada (to my knowledge) try to build an anti use of force stance. My suspicions, as well as those of a great number of Americans, is that the 3 countries that have been supplying Iraq with materials and technologies to build / deliver weapons of mass destruction (IN SPITE OF UN RESOLUTIONS, THAT HAVE BEEN IN PLACE FOR OVER A DECADE, TO DISARM.) all have veto power in the Security Council. When the dust settles, these suspicions, if accurate, will be quite embarassing to those 3 countries. Caen, Americans generally feel that the French do not like us. Is the perception of the American "street" incorrect? There might be "intellectuals" on this site that will say that the perception is not a good characterization, and if so, I'll take exception now. Bambi, Rebuilding is construction work, not oil. I contend that the German-French-Russian position to NOT go to war, was about oil. It's too nice of a day to rant. I'm going outside to sand on the Z.:classic:
