  4. Here are photos of the mirrors on my car. I haven't found part numbers either in my searches. -BJ-
  5. JFYI - My current 71, manufacture 2/71, has the round chrome coat hangers. My first '71 (5/71) had the black plastic coat hangers and both have/had the lighter on the left. Neither have/had screws in the door panels. One thing I have never seen until my current Z is a passenger side rearview door mirror that matches the factory drivers side mirror. -BJ-
  6. I just checked a brochure (1970) I have for the Fairlady Z and the lighter is the one on the left. FWIW -BJ-
  7. I have to correct myself after reading your question again (right to left). The one on the left would be my best guess. I looked at the '69 brochure and it is hard to tell, but it looks very much like the left one.
  8. Carl, From all I have seen "A" would be my vote for the early lighter. Both my first 71 and the current 71 have that lighter. I'll have to check to see if the 1969 brochure I have shows a lighter.

So far I have been going through EBay for parts and have had very good luck. I have the Black Dragon catalog to use as a price guide for now until I get more familiar. The person I bought mine from last month had used Black Dragon also. Hope all is going well with the Z (I looked at the one you have).

Yes, I bought my Z from what was then Jaremko Motors on N. Monroe. I started the Spokane Chapter of the Z Club of America. I know Carl well. In fact he was the one that talked me to moving to Clearwater back then. I am in Albuquerque, NM now. If you stop into Valley Nissan (or whatever it is called now) ask Paul Jaremko about my Z - he should remember it (mention the name Bill Jones and a silver z). I spent a lot of $$$ through their parts dept for comp and accessory parts(not to mention the many cars I bought from him). I sold my Z in the Tri-Cities in 1984 off the Nissan dealer showroom floor. Would love to find that Z and hope it is still in decent shape.

Back in '75 I drove my '71 240 from Spokane to Clearwater, Florida, via San Fransisco and LA. Was a wonderful drive. Took other long trips and none were ever boring. Loved listening to the exhaust sound, the occasional "road race", and the scenery. My current '71, which I purchased last month in Tucson and drove home, brings back a lot of the memories and I look forward to many trips in her.

Welcome! I too had owned a Z many years ago (a '71 I bought new). I loved it tenderly 'til I sold her in '84. This year decided to find another and managed to find an Arizona '71 just a couple weeks ago. Good luck on your search. P.S. I have found this site to be very useful and the members are quite helpful.
  15. I am trying to find someone/place that sells the door locks and hatch lock. I currently have to use two differnt keys and would like to get everything to one (except ignition). I did a search and found recommendations for a couple web sites, but they didn't list them. So......does anyone know a for sure source? This is for a '71 I picked up last week. Thanks in advance for assistance....this site has a lot of helpful folks from what I have read. -Bill-

Congratulations on your purchase. This is a car I looked at in Albuquerque, NM. It does have a lot of goodies according to the owner. He had said the carbs started leaking and that is why they were off the car. Did you check the frame rails real good for rust? Enjoy it. Might see you around town.
  17. Well, had the owner responded to an eamil with my questions I would have been more willing to bid beyond where I did. But, that's the way it goes. Congratulations BD280Z

I am new to this site, but not to Z cars. I owned (:disappoin ) a 1971 240, HLS30-30855 from new to 1984. It was my baby. If I could locate it and it were for sale I would take her back. Look forward to possibly joining the owner ranks again.
