  1. Picked up my freshly powder coated splash pan. (must be the item to do this spring :-) )
  2. I had mine painted last year. It came out a bit lighter than the original 901. I don't know if the color of the primer would make a difference, but the factory primer was a "rust reddish" color. Grey primer was used for the new paint. Oh, I'd have to check to see what brand of paint was used as I don't recall now, but I am fairly certain it was not the PPG. Wish I had researched for that prior to the paint job. Oh well.... Look forward to possibly seeing your car after the paint job. It looks realy good as is.
  3. I had an interesting experience with a seller on ebay this week. I found a retainer ring for a 280Z inner shift boot (doing a 5 spd conversion on one of my 240Z's) for about $32. Shipping was $14 something so I asked the question "will you be charging the $14 something for shipping or actual shipping charges?" The reply was "Thanks". The change to the listing was the price upped 14 something" with free shipping. Will I be buying it - no - so the search goes on.
  4. Replaced the clutch master cylinder and hose to the slave cylinder then took a fall ride on Corrales Rd where the fall colors of the trees along the bosque are very pretty.
  5. I spy a Z - at 9:17 of the video, just after introducing Sam Posey, is the number 33 Bob Sharp Z Sam Posey drove. This is a great video - the sights, the sounds - WOW!!

Welcome from a fellow New Mexico resident. Look forward to seeing pictures of your new acquisition and possibly in person one day. Lots of good information to be found here on this site.
  7. Got one this past winter and I fully agree - it is really good looking. I would have done my Z a diservice had I gotten a used one and tried to spruce it up. BTW, yours old one is in much better shape than mine was.
  8. Question (Don't laugh - I just want input to do it right) - I am fixin' to install my 6 into 1 header and noticed the front and rear stud holes are larger than the rest. This can be seen in the photos of the original post. So, is just a large flat washer adequate to use when mounting such as what appears to be used in this installation? Thanks
  9. Carl, same question as above, but for the Interpart Muhlhollands. I got a set a couple years ago as part of the refresh on my silver Z.

That is the part number for the moustache bar for models from 7/71 to 7/73
  11. Brought HLS30-30855 home from the paint shop. Now the fun of putting her back together.
  12. First registration here in New Mexico for 5/71 was 152.70 (this past Nov) for 1 year. That included all the taxes, VIN verification, etc. 2/71's renewal for two years was $73.00.
  13. Visited her at the paint shop - block and sand stage. May be awhile before she gets the paint as she is extra work for the shop, behind their bread and butter jobs. Getting pretty anxious, but won't rush them. Hope to have her ready for ZCON 2012.
  14. (Actually done on Friday) Got the outside mirrors redone (new mirror glass) and the door/hatch locks to the locksmith for cleanup and repair of the dust flaps. Plus an appointment with the upholsterer to get the seats and door panels done.
  15. Sent my carbs for rebuild and linkage plus fuel rail for plating off to Z Therapy.
