Looking for two knob rally clock parts.
I bet that is quiet compared to the the oscillator unit. I hear it anytime I'm in the garage. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Looking for two knob rally clock parts.
I had Ron at Ron's clocks restore mine. Might check to see if he has any parts. The oscillator unit may be the challenge if you don't have one already. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Classic Zcar Club mobile

what brand header is this
Custom built, but don't appear to be equal length tubes. I agree on the MSA header. I have them on both my Z's. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Interesting. I do not have a metal plate in either of my 71's (2/71 and 5/71) that have the original radio.

WTB BRE Clear Headlight Covers
I've thought about the factory style with the metal rings. Never really liked them before, but at looking at current pictures of Z's with them installed they are starting to appeal. Maybe I'll run across a set of those someplace, even though I understand they are $$$$$$.

WTB BRE Clear Headlight Covers
Unfortunately only for the Daytona Coupes. I talked to Gail Brock last year about the possibility of "resurrecting" the ones for the Z's. She said they would look at the feasibility and if there is interest. So..... we'll see.

WTB BRE Clear Headlight Covers
Not sure if you can zoom in on the photo to see the headlight covers clearly. The headlight covers sold by BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises) back in the 70's were similar to what MSA sells today, except they had no rubber seal on the edges and the mount tabs installation was different. The mount tabs were installed by removing the headlight buckets, determining the location of each of the three mounts per side, drilling a series of very small holes at the mount location, filing the holes to the size of the mount tabs (which resulted in a narrow slit for the mount tab to slide in from the back side of the bucket), and epoxying the tabs on the back side of the bucket. You then filed the edges of the cover to fit the bucket, and then marked where the mount holes needed to be drilled in the covers. Covers were held on using the hex head stainless steel bolts like used with the MSA covers. I can dig out the original headlight buckets and take a photo of the mounts installed if needed.

WTB BRE Clear Headlight Covers
I know I am looking for a needle in the haystack, but thought I'd ask anyway. Does anyone have a set of the BRE clear headlight covers for the 240Z that they will sell?

[2016] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Took out my 4.44LSD to be looked at and hopefully get rid of the whine it has. Put in a 4.11 open diff and it makes a lot of noise. No whine, but another noise I cannot really describe. It has new bearings, so suspect is that the pinion/ring gear specs aren't correct - too tight?
-
3.90 or 4.11 ratio?
I have the 280Z 5 speed with the 3.90 diff in one of my Z's. It works really good. The overall gear ratio in 5th is 3.369 which is basically the same as a stock 4 speed 240Z. (tire diameter not in the calculation, just the tranny and diff gear ratios). The 3.70 will give you 3.20 overall in 5th. If you want to keep the 4.11, I recommend switching to the 280ZX 5 speed, which has the higher 5th gear. The overall gear ratio in 5th with the 4.11 is 3.061. This is what I have in my other Z with a 4.11 diff ( turns 3300 rpm at 70 mph). (NOTE: I normally run a 4.44 lsd diff, but it is out for repairs.)

Lugging a 240z with Libre's
I realize this is about lug nuts, but I'd be interested in a source for the center caps. My caps fit rather loosely and really want to get replacements.
