So .. time to stroke the 2.8L.. Nope.. its a L20 engine.. now what? i think im just going to keep this engine and clean it up.. but finding parts for the L20 is not easy.. i need injecters.. and a head gasket..and possibly other gaskets and seals aswell depending on how indepth i go.. How and where can i find these parts? can i use 2.8 injecters? what upgrades can i do to this engine and head.. i know this head is a decent one for what i got.. i just need a good port and polish.. but still a 2.0 is disapointing.. i want a 3.1L stroker but odviously i need to go shoping for a good block and head now.. also .. if i run a 3.1L stroker .. keep the fuel injection or go to carbs? Ideas and advice would be vary helpfull! Thanks guys

So im reduing my fuel system and need a few ideas and or sugestions...... first off its my 77 280z fairlady. its fuel injected and has a really bad rust problem.... t only has 55 thousand miles but its been sitting for a few years. it ran great and didnt seem to have many problems, besides it liked to over heat but thats a different story... my plan is to stroke the 2.8 to a 3.1 and want to change the injectors... well duhh..... right... but which ones should i go with, size wise that is.... i know that the injectors that are in it alone must be horrible considering rust, but if im going to change them i better change them to the ones that go with the 3.1L. im in the mitts of having the fuel tank relined cause its filled with rust but not to the point were its ruined.. what else should i replace..... probably the fuel pump... and injectors... but whats a good size.... and GPM (gallons per minute) fuel pump. im so confused.... if you can help me out that would be great... thanks guys
  4. Question here guys, im newish to the site but not new to cars... my question to you all is i can find much on my new addition, i was told its a 76 280z stock engine block and head combo. The head is stamped E30 and block is L20 113021.... the trans is 7915213... now im just trying to figure out what year it really is and if it is really the stocker that came with the car. ... the car has a GS31010985 vin number and again i cant find anything on that as well... im tryin to do alot of configuring but ive ran out of places to go....:stupid: ive heard that this head is a one of a kind type thing and same with the block.... Is it really? HELP ME OUT GUYS!!!
  5. HELP ME OUT GUYS..... OK, i just bought another 77 280z, i think?!?!?!? ive been doing some checking and i found out it only has a vin#. One on the fire wall and the other on the dash. ... When i was looking for other id plates or other markings, i couldnt find them. i think it was repainted but i dont know.... i have a few numbers off the block and cylinder head, and trans but how can i tell if they are original??? same with the color, haw can i tell what the original color is supose to be??? It does has some stickers from the factory under the hood but they are in japaneze and i think its just warrnings.. HELP ME PLEASE. I dont want to look stupid here!
  6. Just bought another fairlady and i want to nkow how to find out what the original color is or was.. it only has the vin number? the vin is GS 31 010 985
  7. I just bought an older fairlady, I am bothered because it only has the vin number, no other means of telling what year it really is and or what the original color is, engine size or anything else. So how can i get info from the vin that i do have. I do believe that the engine is orginal aswell but how can i find this stuff out? my vin # is ... GS31010985
  8. classic datsun in VISTA is a good place not to bad with the whole price thing, and great work. They just did a L28 for me.
  9. there might be a short in the wiring, check out were all it conects to and just trace it out. it might be as simple as a loose conection, i had that problem with my 77 280z, it would come on, till i touched what it was in link to then shut off. but in order to diagnose it properly we need the info asked by (ktm) what year, moddle, and such. 10. in my 77 fairlady, it has the choke lever spot as well and i was told buy a trusted Z conisure that it is the stock look..... so i guess that even in japan they use it even when its not needed. SGT JOHNSON USMC
  11. Im in cali but now in iraq i will be back in a few weeks. thanks for your post on the other thread.
  12. well, thanks for the comments on the car. if i knew how to post more pics then i would, but till then i think im stuck with this only one. i understand about if i converted my 280 to a 240 i would looze the value. but really would it be worth it. if i can find a resonable trade then i dont have to work as hard then... well see.. thanks guys also im located in Cali now nere San Diego. in iraq now but will be back soon to see more pics its on the Zparts.com web site forsale, price isnt right though.
  13. I own a 280z 2+2 and its a right hand drive fairlady, but i really am not a fan of this moddel. i really love the 72 240z style and want one in a right hand version aswell. should i sell the 77 and get a early model 240z or should i just convert the new model into a right hand drive.
