Darbji, how about these? They appear to be 5.5x14, assuming I read the tire information correctly. They are currently shod with p215/70r14 tires, though they are definitely shot. All four look good though due to the sharp brush surrounding the donor I couldn't really get up close and personal. I will pm you with the details.

Well, first off, I would start by going through all of your electrical connections. You already have experienced what dirty connections can do. Second, drop the tank for cleaning and clean out your fuel lines (replace filter, rubber lines, check the filter in your fuel pump-it is dirty). Look up a shop called Dr. Injector, or some other fuel injector cleaning companies, and send them off for a refresh. Also, you might search the site for a spreadsheet that will help you organize your time and progress.

Here's an overhead photo of my engine bay. If you have a turbo engine, you will notice several obvious differences (namely the turbo unit itself and the different valve cover).

Or finish it all in black-black door ding guards, black the rear bumper... The door ding guards are a good thing, after all...unless you like dings.
  5. Mohamed, you already know a great deal about the EFI system in our cars. How much do you know about carbs, especially dual or triple systems? If you want to learn about carbs, I'd say go for a 240-you have all the resources for learning about them here. It's a tough call...how about one of each? BTW-did you sell the M?

How's the fuel pump and pump relay?

Before you start planning any sort of upgrade (turbo or supercharger) you must go through EVERYTHING THAT GOES BAD like vacuum lines, filters, fuel, plugs, electrical connections, connections in general, clean your injectors, clean your gas tank, check your fuses,... Once you get it running as it should, then start considering upgrades. Or, you could just pull the engine and replace it with a built engine, but for that you will find more info at hybridz.com Welcome to the site, and congratulations on the free zx!

This is Julio, my Chihuahua. I also have a couple cats (Alexander and Gabriel) but I've not got photos of them to post. They are Maine Coon mixes, and outweigh Julio 3 to 1. Alexander weighs in at 17 pounds (muscle and fur) while Julio tips the scale (barely) at 5 1/2 pounds. Of course Julio thinks he rules the roost
  9. I was just in Mexico (just outside Mexico City) a couple weeks ago and noticed that there are quite a few 510's rolling around. I saw a couple that were georgous, and many others that were not... My mother in law used to have a Bluebird, though I don't know the year. I wish she still had it, for it would now be mine but that is not the case.
  10. Couple a nice shots from the Jada website.

very nice, Sulio! Look forward to the longer version, just don't change too much of that wonderful soundtrack!

When I pulled my radiator in order to change out the water pump, I found quite a few leaves had accumulated in there. My car was not overheating, however. I suppose that if you had enough stuff accumulated in there, it might have some effect, but not that much. You may have hit the nail on the head with your thought of the fan clutch, though.

Personally, I like the car. It's not necessarily a car that I would own, but if I were to see it at a car show, I would certainly check it out. About the rims, I agree that having them match the car is a bit over the top, though the design is a nice one...perhaps if they were black or chrome/silver they would look a bit more appropriate, or at least not detracting from the whole. Still, that color is one of my favorites, and I think it looks stunning on a Z car. Is the seller going to get that amount out of it? Who knows. But if you were to watch any of the shows where a customizer gets a beater from the yard and throws tons of money at it to really customize it (and bring it back from the dead), you will see that the money put in is usually earned back, plus some. Is this car for everyone? No. Is it a work of art, dedication, and vision? Yes, it certainly is.

Not quite, Jason. It should read: from zx - tranny from z - everything else everything left over from zx goes to zbane for free the end
  15. Good call, Steve. I've only seen the "ricers" with the phrase "drive it like you stole it," and I really would rather not be considered in that same league. I already get those cars approaching me as is; I dare not imagine what might happen if they considered me to be one of there own...

I'd have to agree with Tom on this one, even though Jason has had no problems. Just for piece of mind a new HG should be used, especially since you have shown concern about it. After all you have done and invested, why risk it?
  17. You could just install a ZX alternator. If you run a quick search of the site, you will find that it is a fairly straightforward and common upgrade.

  20. Gregg, what does the dovetail mate up to? If there is a hook or ledge on the jamb that it goes against, then perhaps it is a preventative measure against sagging doors. Since the driver's door is presumably the door that is used the most there may not have been a need for one on the passenger side. Just an idea.
  21. Something like this, perhaps? I admit that the stick on 280zx label is kind of tacky-certainly not the best choice for quality, but the rounded edges should provide clearance for the tabs.

Maxwell, Have you by any chance a digital camera? Some photos of the mystery piece might prove beneficial here.

The photos on the page are really small, so here is the link to the sellers photopage, as provided in the auction: http://public.fotki.com/mcantu/misc_hosting_pics/ds-240/

When was the last time the thermostat was changed? If it is not opening, you would certainly overheat. The thermostat is a pretty easy thing to check, though it is even easier to replace :stupid: To check: Remove the thermostat from its housing. Take it inside and place it in a pot of water. Heat the water, and as the water reaches @ 160 f you should see the center area start to open. If not, keep watching until the water nears a boil. If the thermostat hasn't opened by this time, it is no good. It has been suggested by others on this site that you should go ahead and spend the few extra bucks to get a genuine Nissan part, as they have a larger opening area. Makes sense to do that, so why not?
