Well, you could always try getting a standard screwdriver in there, that's what I do when the phillips is stripping or its gauge is larger than my phillips driver.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but it’s got me stumped. I need to change the alternator belt, but do not know how to get to it. Obviously, I need to remove the power steering/oil pump belt (#1 in the photo), the A/C compressor belt (#2), and finally the alternator belt (#3). I figured I would go ahead and replace all three at the same time, unfortunately, the parts store was out of the A/C belt. Anyway, I was thinking of removing the fan blade, loosening the idlers, and sliding the alternator in. However, I can’t see how to remove the fan blade. I can feel bolts on the front of the blade, and see others behind it, but I don’t want to inadvertently disassemble the fan clutch. Is removing the fan blade even necessary, or can the job be done with just loosening the idlers entirely, then wiggling the belts around it? My FSM is usually very helpful, but on this issue, it’s not. If you think something is missing in these photos, it’s the top half of the fan shroud, which I’ve already removed.

That's not a hijack, it is in keeping with what I started the thread on -(though I realize I didn't word it too well)- the appearance and appreciation of our vehicles in general interest periodicals; and the possibly detrimental effects it will have on the availability/driveability of quality vehicles. I love seeing attention given to our imports, but now that Automobile has focused attention on the 510, you just know that the price of them will shoot up. There are benefits and drawbacks to this, of course. Benefit-niche shops will continue (or resume) production of NLA parts. Drawback-As Victor stated, parts will become more expensive, as the demand raises, and supply dwindles.

That's just sad...It obviously isn't an accident. The window coloring in the white one is blue, while the yellow one has dark tinting that is almost black (not blue). Why Hot Wheels chose to keep it as #36/38 is odd, since all it does is cause confusion. Maybe they should call the white on a Series 1 car, and the yellow a series 2...

From what I can tell, the Nissan 240 and 180 are the same vehicle, with the exception of engine size. Just another vehicle we didn't get here in the US. The kit seems to be a 3 off, not just a one off, though it would be interesting to know where the kit came from. Randy, it's always good to be careful, I'm heading into Small Claims Court for exactly the reason you have listed. You do have the benefit, however, of having been recommeded to this particular shop by someone who genuinely knows his stuff, not to mention that this shop speciallizes in our line of autos. Still, Caution is always needed, and second opinions (when available) are always good to get.

TomoHawk, are you trying to get around the 2 person carpool requirement so you can drive in the "priviliged" lane?

Currently, I'm with Geico. Since I have a multi-car policy, having full coverage on the ZX proved quite reasonable, only about 10 bucks more for 6mos over my liability coverage from the 92 Accord (I miss 35-40mpg) that was used as trade. I have used Progressive, Farmers, State Farm, Mercury, Allstate, probably some others. The rate you are given all depends on where you live (ZIP CODE), what you drive, and how you've driven in the past. Check around, that's all I can say. You may be able to find better deals by actually going into an insurance peddler's office than calling a faceless entity.
