"David Box size for shipping a single G-Nose is 185 x 70 x 50cm. Cost would be approx. £275 (GB pounds). There is a chance that we could get two sets into this box. At worst, two would go into our next size box at 185 x 80 x 50cm which would cost approx. £310 (GB pounds). Three units would go into the next size box at 200 x 100 x 50cm for approx. £425 (GB pounds). Regards, Mike at MJP"

"David As far as I am aware, only ourselves and one other UK company have access to the moulds for this kit. The problem would be shipping to USA - fibreglass is charged on volume, not weight and shipping cost would probable exceed th ecost of the unit. The price of the two piece G-Nose front end is currently 302.50 GB pounds - equivalent to approx. $550 (US dollars) at current exchange rate. Regards, Mike at MJP" I've asked the approx. size of the box, and the possibility of bulk shipping. I am hoping that if several of us want this unit, we can have them sent together. I have my fingers crossed, but considering it's fiberglass, I don't expect a shipping break.
  3. Check the other thread, I think I found the place in England.

Found this website, I've emailed them about the g-nose, as I am interested too. I'll post whatever info they provide. "Other kits available : eg. G-nose conversion, Kaminari style front and rear valence." http://www.mjpauto.com/280zx.html I searched the galleries at the Z club (UK) and found the original shot of the g nose in question, along with some other beauties. http://www.zclub.net/gallery/showgallery.php?si=g+nose&limit=

Carl, thanks for posting the link, that is truly a beautiful Z, I even like the yellow. Unfortunatly, I've not got 12K to drop on a car in one swoop. Jim, I, too, saw the rust on the rear deck, I couldn't really tell if it was surface rust or just dirt, as the car isn't the cleanest. One thing I like about this car is that the proceeds will go to a nonprofit org that deals with automotive education. I got some responses from my queries regarding shipping, $875 was the cheapest, so I think I will avoid bidding-and look for something closer.

I agree, Stephen. I hope it hangs out low, just in case.

The photo of the interior seem to show a complete, non cracked dash, other than that, it looks messy but not terrible. I'm tempted to bid, but need to check shipping first.

350000 Japanese Yen (jpy) = 2993.0135 Us Dollar (usd), a bargain at twice the price. If only I were made of money.
  10. Welcome to the club, this is the place to be! Post some shots of the questionable areas, that way those members familiar with restoration can offer advice to your specific areas of concern. It might also be helpful to list your vin#, though this isn't always neccessary. One of the cool things about posting the vin is that someone might have a car next in production, nothing like finding the long lost brother or sister. Anyways, welcome again to the club,

The cars been in your family for 25 years, and you're 28. That is SO COOL! Is she a family heirloom or hand me down? What's her story? Welcome to the club,

Here's a picture of the screen, and a link to atlantic z, where there is a great group of photos, including the internal pump filter (assuming you have an original pump). Regarding the screen, it is located inside the tank, so you will need to get in there. The sending unit is accesable from inside the car, in the hatch area (obviously). I don't have a 280z, so I can't tell you exactly where to look, but it should be fairly obvious as to how you access the unit. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuelpump/index.html I hope this helps get you started. (Will, hope you don't mind me lifting your photo from a different post, I thought it be useful here)

Welcome to the club, eddyonelv! I don't know if there are any members in LV, but there are some four hours west. I would imagine that should you find bodies in the boneyard, they will be rust free, much to the envy of all. Post some pictures, ask some questions, use the search feature in the site, and chip in whenever you can.

sounds like a good plan, considering the body. Start searching the boneyards, you never know what you'll find! By the way, welcome!

you must be very excited! Another member asked the same question a while ago, I did a search (a wonderful tool of the site) and came up with this thread. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22619

Welcome, Nick! Good luck with your 240, should you decide to buy it. Before you do, there are all sorts of things to check for (mostly pertaining to rust) that you should ckeck out. By searching this site, you will find heaps of useful information about the car of your dreams. If (when) you get it, be sure to post some photos, along with any questions you may have.
  17. Good call on the first aid kits, luckily, stores of all shapes (especially the Big Box stores) have excellent prepackaged, sterile & complete units for purchase in convenient carry cases (and they're not that expensive, either!).
  18. My bad, sorry TomoHawk. I read your questions in a different way than you intended. You've certainly got a good point about the shirt needing to be "different," and I think it will be. Perhaps if it were a Z beating a generic car in a racing situation (at the track)-the loser would be in the background, obscured by some smoke (burning oil, baby), but visibly behind. Just an idea. david
  19. TomoHawk, my good man, perhaps this thread will help explain the motives. david http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22946 Very nice design, I think either white or black would do well for material color, maybe even grey.
  20. That's right, moonpup. I thought so as well. That's why clarity is most important. david
  21. Ditto, Enigma. Personally, I think what set people off was the [hundreds of rust free] phrase. The thought of finding good bodied cars and sending them cross country is a great idea, as long as the potential buyer has a fair idea of the quality of the vehicle. Seems about the same as buying of ebay or craigslist, with one difference, someone who is trying to specialize in selling a specialized model lineup to very particular clientele. VintageCarMan-I think everyone here has had some trouble with exagerations, especially those dealing with rust (a little surface rust, a dime sized hole, rust free frame rails/doglegs/floorpans, etc.) I know I did. You should have seen my expression once I got my ZX up on a lift-frame rails, what frame rails?!? You will find, if you just read threads at random, that damn near everyone here is VERY, VERY NICE, ENTHUSIASTIC, and HELPFUL (even to strangers who post once and never return). Of course, everyone has bad days. The key is to clearly state what you have to say, be it a business proposition or question about FI engines. Since the members on this forum cannot see or touch my car when they try to help with problems, CLARITY is the key in questioning, if I am to get helpful advice, the same goes for everyone here, including you. Hopefully you will not think us to be a group of prats, because we are not. Just please, please, say what you mean, and mean what you say. just my piece... david
  22.
