  1. Only the 73 model was had the bracketry installed. The earlier models had nothing, except the holes in the rear control arms.
  2. Take a look at the shifter boot, I can't believe that thing is still intact. Damn amazing.
  3. Merry Christmas To All Of You Too.
  4. I'll bet that car has more problems than appears to be in the photos. Of course maybe this is the new lowest mileage 240Z, my or my what will a certain person do?
  5. You took the damn thing home didn't you? You didn't just leave it there for the vultures to circle overhead did you?

I owned one of those once. It got totaled when a drunk driver hit it. And don't forget one thing, it was a DATSUN!!!!
  8. Doesn't enlarging the ducts, lower the velocity?
  9. Can you get a 2-1/4" exhaust system in stock form? I've read that 2-1/4" is the optimal exhaust diameter for a stock Z.

I just installed a new K&N filter, and I think my car run a bit better now. SU's are certainly not winter carbs, but I think it's running noticeably better then before.
  11. Yes, in the beginning the manuals were separate.
  12. You're going to have to be more specific than that. Are you concerned about the initial bidding price or what?
  13. The condition/configuration of the car, when you get, may also have an effect.

Forged wheels, probably twice the cost I'll bet.
  15. Hey, change the two hoses and firewall grommets while you're doing this. Don't do this job twice. Sometimes the screws holding the valve in place are rusted from leaking antifreeze. Check this out before you loosen the hoseclamps.

After 1971, Datsun moved the ashtray and had to make a whimpy choke mechanism that everyone is having problems with; I mean a real POS. The 1970 and 1971 choke mechanism is beefy as hell and almost never breaks. In 1972 and after, they moved the choke knob to the side of the console, causing it to crack the console all the time. Install lots of steel and epoxy to fix it. Make those choke knobs out of aluminum, no kidding.
  17. Look at the frame rails. They are long on the 280Z. The 280Z bumpers are completely different.

It's not my cup of tea, but I can see you've done a first class job there.

I purchased Nissan fenders when I replaced mine. They have holes in them already.

Well I don't know how popular it is, but what's wrong with putting them on like the factory did it?
  22. bpilati posted a post in a topic in Introductions
Rings??? How did the car ever run, with the old valves? Does this make sense to anyone?
  23. bpilati posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
Why would anyone not want to put the emblems on their car the way the factory did it?
  24. Paypal is not the cause of identity theft anymore than any other secure site. Of course it's your privilege, but I think maybe you were a bit hastey.
  25. All I see is X's.
