  1. After all that driving you're going to attempt that?
  2. As much as I appreciate a list like this, what can I do with it? I don't know how to contact anyone, or where they're coming from. I wouldn't know you if I saw you. Any suggestions on how to fix that? Maybe we need a special CZC patch! Mike?
  3. Probably better to wait and have them in hand.
  4. I'll see you guys there. I'll have my Z with me, come say hi.
  5. I'll be there, with my gold toy. I hope to meet some of you, but probably won't recognize the CZC usernames. Just say you're a member. I'm staying at the Hilton.
  6. The registry snapshot is wrong, notice all the names beginning with "J"? Row 469 is my car, and my name ain't John Connors.
  7. It would look just like a 240Z, except be totally modern in every way. The Katayama Edition would be a track car with adjustable everything. We could have a Matsuo Edition too.
  8. I've already described it on Nissan's facebook page. It's a real 240Z 2600# advanced composite body with 2.4 L supercharged six cylinder engine. Nissan could make a screamer out of it. They could even make a Special K Edition.
  9. http://www.hagerty.com/Articles-Videos/Articles/2015/02/25/Yutaka-Katayama?utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_medium=email&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Hagerty%20Weekly%20News%202-25-2015 It's a proud moment.
  10. I think we should designate February Mr K Month every year!!

    1. Mike

      Mike

Not a bad idea.. K day?

  11. Obviously whatever Nissan sells is official OEM part, no matter what it's made of. But my shift knob looks a lot like the OP's NOS knob. It's more brown than red in tone. I'm thinking that maybe they didn't originally match as much as we all think they should.
  12. $50K for a Z. It better be restored to beyond the highest level.
  13. We should have had more of the stock 240Z spring sets made. It's been at least ten years ago, but we had stock US springs made and Euro springs (15% stiffer) made because Motorsport no longer carried them. We had initial orders of ten sets, with an extra 30 sets bought and sold by Courtesy Nissan. After that no more were made. Someone could contact Courtesy and see if they remember the company. I forget now the name of the company I contacted to make them. I found them on the Web and they made automotive springs.
  14. I thought Koni stop making shocks for the Z a long time ago. Guess I was wrong.
  15. I'm planning to be there, so it'll be great to see you again. Cross your fingers that nothing unforunate changes my plan.
  16. The Best of Motor Trend: 50th Anniversary Special Edition 1949-1999 Article: Hits, Misses & Never Weres (Cars and fads that changed our lives.....or not) (Page 14) #1) '70 Datsun 240Z - "It's timeless shape, classic powertrain layout, solid performance, and affordable price proved an unbeatable combo for the gang who now markets its hardware under the Nissan name." This is why Mr K, Matsuo and others are so highly admired, because they blew a hole in the market that never saw it coming until it was too late to respond. So the Z has been the symbol of the Japanese sports car industry ever since.

    S30 Seats?

Why would anyone want to put S30 seats in their car, unless it's an S30? They are nothing special as far as support goes.
  18. emccallum, don't do it. You'll regret it.
  19. First, Hagerty is pissing off one their customers..............me. Has anyone noticed that Hagerty virtually ignores Japanese cars? So seldom are they discussed that they seem non-existent. If anyone can show me where Hagerty give Japanese cars equal time, I want to see it.
  20. I would touch that with a 10 foot pole.
  21. Nice exhaust. Looks like you need a gas tank maybe.
