  1. I'm sorry you had this experience. Like I said earlier, my dash is currently there and I am feeling less than optimistic about it. I guess time will tell what kind of job they do on it. Do you know where you are going to send it? carl
  2. Thanks for the advice Unkle. I will look into it. carl
  3. Bryan, Keep us updated. I am intrigued. Would it be possible to get a 240z in brown leather? I might be interested. carl
  4. RCB280z, The post just above yours says he quoted $250 for the work. Keep in mind that was 4 years ago. I may have gone up. carl
  5. His email said he'd been out of town. I am glad to have this resolved. carl
  6. All is well with Too Intense Restoration. Troy contacted me today about the wrong color parts and I will send back the black ones in exchange for the butterscotch. He said he would even credit me for the return shipping costs. I'm very pleased. Now all I have to do is deal with the other place. carl
  7. I've emailed Too Intense again just to see if they respond in the next few days. The problem with them is that I REALLY want to order from them. The guy on ebay, I've given up on and written it up to a lesson learned. Hopefully, Paypal will deal with the situation now and refund my money. carl
  8. Thats the guy. I know, I know. I looked at the feedback but foolishly thought I would be one of the lucky ones. It was stupid of me and I shouldn't be surprised.
  9. Which people did you have good luck with? Too Intense or New Old Stock? carl
  10. Hi everyone, As you all may have guessed from my earlier posting, I just got back my 240z from the body shop. I have been ordering parts like crazy and have had some real issues with some of the vendors. I bought a set of stainless steel brake lines off of ebay from New Old Stock Motorsports in Arizona on 5/9 and have not heard anything from them. I paid promptly and have no idea what the deal is. I have tried contacting them via ebay with no reply. I have sent emails that get bounced back. I have tried calling a number I found on google but that wouldn't go through for some reason. They continue to post auctions on ebay so they haven't dissappeared. Finally today I resorted to using Paypal to file a claim to try and get some kind of response out of them. I have had similar problems with Too Intense Restoration. I ordered some interior parts and was sent the wrong color. Unfortunately, I have never been able to contact them about my initial order (it just showed up on my doorstep one day) and now I can't get a hold of them about the wrong order. I have emailed, tried calling on numerous occasions and even faxed. I don't want to just send it back with a note because the receipt clearly has my message about needing a specific color. My concern is, do I just sell the wrong parts on ebay to recoup some of my money and order from another supplier? It has been a very frustrating day. I appreciate the chance to vent and if anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to get it. Thanks. carl

Thanks guys, Walter you are right, no engine yet. In fact, no interior at all either! Don't worry, I have always liked your car a lot Walter. I wish mine had the chrome bumpers like yours. It adds a lot to the look. carl

Chris, is that for the seats or for everything? Now I'm not sure if I am going to be able to find the headliner and parts in butterscotch. carl

Chris, Classic Datsun also offers butterscotch seat covers, etc. Try them as well. Good luck carl

Chris, The only place I could find was banzai motorworks (zzxdatsun.com) that offered butterscotch parts other than too intense restoration. The seat covers were $270 for the pair and $135 for new seat foams if you need them. If I can't get the butterscotch headliner and panel from Too Intense I may have to bite the bullet and spend more. carl

Chris, its just awful isn't it? I ordered the headliner kit and door panels from Too Intense Restoration but have had trouble with lack of communication. They sent the black color so now I have to try and get in touch to send them back for the correct color. I also got the wrong color boomerang pieces behind the door from MSA. I know I ordered the right color with the headliner, not so sure if I messed up with MSA. I can't remember where I got the plastic panels from. I will have to repaint them because the color isn't a match for the butterscotch. They are more tan than butterscotch. I just saw that Banzai Motorworks has door panels, headliners etc in butterscotch but they are really pricey. Almost twice as much. carl

Thanks Geezer! I'm a bit bummed because I ordered a new headliner and door panel skins and they sent black not butterscotch! Dang, now I have to try and send them back and get replacements. carl

Thanks Ron, PM sent. I may resort to using the 3M tape to avoid drilling into the lovely paint and as pointed out, the welds could cause trouble. Thanks for everyones help and advice. carl

Well it was only 1 1/2 years waiting but my car is finally home. It was delivered last Friday night. I am so happy to actually start working on rebuilding it not just taking it apart. I put the marker lights and the brake/rear lights in this weekend. Also the stainless drip rail above the doors. I have been putting fat mat in today and am about halfway done with that. I am pretty darn happy to have the car home but there are a few things that need to be sorted out. The body shop guy welded over the holes for the c pillar 240z emblem and the holes for the hatch emblems. I went to put them on and stood there looking around trying to find the holes. I will figure out someway to put the c pillar ones on but I am not sure about the hatch ones. Time will tell. I replaced the bent and rusted bumpers with fiberglass ones for the time being. I think it makes the front and rear ends look dark/plain. At some point in the future when I can afford it, I will either have the old ones fixed or buy the stainless steel ones. I think shiny bumpers would really dress it up. Also, I would like to put Rota RBs or Panasports on it as well. I will post more pics as I make progress. carl
  19. I'll put in a plug for Ralph (Z connection). I have used him multiple times for parts on ebay. I always get the parts quickly and with no hassle. I highly recommend him. carl
  20. Ah..... those I did see but thought "Surely those aren't holding it on". Thanks Hogie. I appreciate it. carl
  21. Hey there, How do you remove the radiator fan and fan clutch? I am working on my cars engine and also have a spare engine that I plan to keep for parts. It would take up much less space when disassembled. I haven't seen any obvious bolts that look like they hold it on. Thanks. carl
  22. When I got home last night there was a note from the post office saying I had a package waiting. I will try to get it at lunch. At this point, my only complaints are the lack of communication and the use of the post office (as stated by Mike). carl

That looks really cool. It seems like battery cables are always ugly and like you said, cheap. Those connectors look really nice and clean. Good job! carl
  24. Has anyone had any problems with Too Intense Restoration? I placed an order with them at the beginning of the month and shortly thereafter received an email saying the order would ship by the 7th. I haven't heard anything since. I have tried calling and keep getting the machine and have not had any replies to emails. carl

Don't give him a hard time! He posted both in the garage! Nice looking cars. Is the 280z a teal green? carl
