Z specific shops around Sydney or Melbourne
On second thoughts, if your idea is to make a profit, you could get a 20 foot container and fill it with RB30 engines, $200 is probably MAX at a junk yard . less privately.("free, get it out of here" is commom) Upset the balance of the planet, move some weight to the northern hemisphere.- give those depressed global warming loonies:disappoin something to keep them awake a bit longer at nights. In sydney today, it's the coldest day since global warming records were kept!

Moustache bar bolt differences?
Phew! I got in before someone else could tell me I,m a turkey, only took 3 hours of knuckle mashing and cussing. just so no-one else makes the same mistake, the pineapple bushes have a different inside diameter hole ,Top one bigger, bottom one smaller,If you put them on the wrong way , it is obvious(now) the smaller centre hole one will not run all the way up the bolt. I,ll go away and hide for a bit now.:stupid: Sort of lucky I could not find my 4 foot long 3/4 drive bar, might have twisted the floor out of it!!!

Moustache bar bolt differences?
Struck a problem installing a R180, I took out the R200 to rebuild and do LSD conversion, installed spare R180, using the original R180 moustache bar. Problem is it will not go all the way onto the two bolts through the floor, goes on initially but wont go all the way, about 3/4 inch slack at the top. I found an old post that mentions that the bolts on an R200 are thicker, and that the bushings can be drilled out??? All the parts suppliers seem to list the bushes as the same 240-280Z. Is there a difference? Have I manufactured a problem because I'm doing this swap "backwards"? only intended using the 180 short term, so didn't renew bushes, they did not look too bad. If there is a difference in bush/bolt size, it must mean anyone that replaces 180 bushes is going to have a loose fit if they dont do bolts at the same time.??? (Car is 1976 2 seater 5 speed, temporary diff is from 1977 2+2auto)

Rover V8
Having had 2 TR8s and too many Rover V8s to count( many more than I would admit to a psychyatrist) Several factors should be weighed up BEFORE you race out and buy a motor. 1) they are primitive.real primitive! 2) they were never all that popular here in Australia. 3)Parts are not that cheap here. 4)Lightweight it may be, It is also very very thirsty.Especially the 3.5 I put an injected 4.6 in a TR8- more economical-but it is all torque-doesn't rev! 5)As mentioned previously, need big capacity to get power- Costs a heap. 6)Performance parts for all capacities are thin on the ground down here.and will cost. Beware of a "specialist" parts supplier in Adelaide!!!!! 7)A dellows /supra conversion is round $2200(this does give you a gearbox that can be reved, unlike the Rover 5 speed, which had bio-degradeable 2nd gear-the other 4 not much better) 8)The poms played with this motor, because it was all they had! 9)To set one up decently, will cost $5000(This is just engine stuff-not installing) minimum-rebuilt, dellows/supra,a few go fastie bits, There are better more modern Japanese engines out there for much less than that sort of money. Primitive, primitive primitive!! Rigor mortis set in in about 1980-It's been on life support since then. Add a bit on here and there, inject it,All so they didn't have to develop a replacement-Only the sad sad state of the English car industry kept it going so long. 10) It's named after a dog!
