  1. 2nd picture: 45mm efi throttle bodies
  2. Hi All, I have a set of 45mm throttle bodies that are Webber bolt pattern. I bought these brand new and was going to install it on an L18 in a Datsun P510. I have since sold the car and will now get one more throttle body so that I can build a nice L28 to go with it all...

  5. Hi All, Michael is right, LILGTR came off the trailer on the way home from a show. Steve, the motor was supposed to come out just after the show to have it checked out and rebuilt. LILGTR had ONLY recently got out of the paint shop too! Very sad for Karl, his car was very nice and very well know too...hope it works out for him in the end. Makes me think that I should have insurance for my RB26 240Z!!! Cuong

Hi All, my now yellow zed (HS30 103471) is also the same interior and paint colour as Halz's car! we are onto something here... The engine block number is (well was when the L24 was in there before the RB26) L24189407 Hmmhmm.... Cuong Nguyen
  7. HI ALL, news update of the car. It is not good news and it is enough to make a grown man cry... This engine was in a S14 Silvia and had the GTR engine conversion (RB26DETT) Being in the US, it is a fairly big thing to do as the engines arent thick on the ground as other places such as Australia. The owner has receipts for US$60K + the cost of the car and labour that he has put in. This is the car now... http://www.lilgtr.com/image_display.asp?pid=85 RIP LILGTR Cuong Nguyen
  8. Hi All, was considering installing these on my zed, any advice? Anyone done it before and if so was there any noticeable lag on a 6 cylinder engine? Thank you, Cuong Nguyen
  9. Hi Geoff, Thank you very much, I did see the pics you posted up and thats what made me want to get in contact with the guy! The rear end is really nice and I was curious about doing similar things to my RB26DETT 240Z. I look forward to the info on the owner, could you kindly email them to nguyenxcuong@hotmail.com please. Thanks again, Cuong Nguyen

Hello Hayden, Gavin, Lachlan, Chris, James and all... In my limited experience I WOULD take the car to a good panel shop to do your repairs. From talking to Hayden I think that he would accept nothing but a high quality repair and refinish. It would be much more costly to try and buy all the correct tools like a MIG welder, panel hammer, dollies, air compressor, gravity fed paint gun, spray booth, masking paper, masking tape, metal file, paint, primer, etc.... It is VERY hard to find a good panel shop - as it is to find a good mechanic or doctor! I once had a guy that I thought was good on restorations working on my car, gave him a $1,000 deposit to commence work on the 240Z. Once I saw what he did on other customers cars, I called a tilt tray truck and took my car home that day. I never got my money back After months of asking people in the trade (I did a panel beating apprenticeship) I finally found a place that I was comfortable with leaving them to spray the paint on. I used Dellaporte Smash Repair in Balcatta (ask for Mark Dellaporte and mention my car) because they used Glasurit paint (which I believe is among the best) It took them about 6 months to get the car back to me (even though all the panel work had ALREADY been done by me) because they admitted that they werent prepared to take on the job as insurance rate smash repairs are more profittable, so a project would have to be a time filler. I would also recommend The Body Shop in O'malley St Osborne Park (see Domenic Di Domenico) but they arent cheap. That is where I did my time. They are a European car specialist (do heaps of work for Alf Barbagallo on Audi, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo etc) and also do LHD to RHD conversions on 911 Porsche. Restored a Ferrari 512 BB whilst there as well It all comes down to money... and plenty of it! Good luck and I will see you at the next zed meeting to see your car! Cuong
  15. Good luck with your new zed James! Let me know how you go on your drive home. Cuong Nguyen

Hi Alfa, How about you take some engine bay pics? That way we may be able to spot any obviuos errors...if there are any! I may be joining you as a 240K owner, if I can find a decent 2 dr that is.... Cuong Nguyen
  17. Hi All, having owned numerous amount of zeds (240Z and 260Z 2 seaters) and also having run a 1982 911SC coupe (for over 2 years) I dont think one car has it over the other. Like Alan said, there are pros and cons to both cars and they are very different too (FR and RR) I always love a car for what it does best (and sometimes not so well) and the driving experience that it gives. I think that people need to learn to appreciate a wider range of motorcars than just stick to the one type... I wouldnt hesitate to buy another 911 - love to have a 2.7RS!
  18. Hi All, there is lots of info on RB engine swaps into zeds on www.hybridz.org so try doing a search there. You will need either a RB20DET or RB25DET gearbox, both of these are RWD and there isnt such an engine as a RB25DETT. The RB25DET gearbox is much wider/larger/stronger than the RB20DET one, but as such you will need to modify the "ears" in the zeds transmission tunnel to be able to mount the gearbox. The oil sump needs to be from a RWD RB series engine. This will need to be modified (cut and shut etc) to clear the zeds steering rack and also the oil pick up mounting point on the RB26DETT block. As the RB26DETT block is double drilled, there is no problem to bolting on the RWD metal sump! Hope that helps, Cuong

Hi All, Gav240Z the 810 is known as the 200B here in Australia. There is a coupe version of it too but not as common here as the 4 door. Cuong Nguyen
