mysterious wide body kit
how do you know that Monza is an Italian company Craig? I'd say the car is in Japan from the looks of the photos (Advan stickers and GTR on hoist). Italian cars are LHD not RHD???

Is chassis worth saving
I would say that unless the car has some special meaning to you then it wouldnt be worth repairing it. You will be able to find a better shell to build up from and save heaps of $$ in the process. But it can be done, I personally would not.

C110: RB20 or L28?
[quote name= RB25 head on RB30 block would be a good swap but your loosing economy then. not sure how much truth there is in that! i would have thought that with a more modern cylinder head that the chances of getting better economy would increase if the tuning is spot on. of course economy goes out the window if the right foot is heavy on the pedal... personally i wouldnt bother doing the whole RB conversion for the RB20 as they do not have much torque, lots of work for not much gain. unless you are prepared to go RB25DET or bigger then stick with L28.

New book?
Hi Carl, can I pretty please bother you and receive the english translation by Brian Long for the Fairlady Z Story - DATSUN SP/SR & Z book? I bough a copy while I was in Tokyo few years ago but always wanted to know the contents! (bottom three items in the attached picture, not the top two) I have been told that this is a limited edition version of the "normal" Fairlady Z Story - DATSUN SP/SR & Z book???

So I visited RockyAuto Japan...
james you lucky bugger... i was getting flashbacks seeing a yellow RB26DETT 240Z! haha Still thing mine is nicer then theirs as I would! wonder if they could sell mine for me.

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
there are MANY cars that i love, Aston Martins, Porsches, BMWs, Mercs etc. but if I had to pick one that I have a soft spot for is the Ferrari F40 still looks hot today as the day it came out. cars that i generally dont fancy are the english made ones, something to do with build "quality" But for now I will have to do with my R32 GTR and RB26DETT powered 240Z

Finally Got Em, My New Fat 3 Piece 17" Wheels
car look hot! well done...

SR20DET motor installed (pics)
Hi Mikey, that a VERY hot project that you have there About the head being higher then the radiator - sometimes it cant be helped, a way around it to have a "header tank" mounted elsewhere in the engine bay and plumbed up to the radiator and various other places so that way its all apples in term of cooling. RB25 240z - Australia
Hi Brycey, thats quite funny about having my car picture up on someones pinup board! My claim to fame... hahaha I really should be getting stuck into mine again but having bought a house and also another Ozzy delivered R32 GTR last week money isnt exactly floating around at the moment. But its all fun and games Very tempted to drop the built motor from the zed into the GTR..

RB25 240z - Australia
Very interesting Brycey, I have a similar set up in my 240Z. RB26DETT with a Garrett GT35R turbo. Had an Autronic SM2 in there before but will be using an Apexi Power FC D-Jetro soon. Keep the progress pics coming, love to see them! Cuong

FS: '74 240K coupe (Vic).
As an owner of both newer and older cars (240Z, R32 GTR, Navara STR) I can appreciate each of the cars for what they are and the period that they were built. Like James and Chris have said, if you are going to buy an old car be prepared for what the whole ownership of an old car is all about, fixing it and hunting down hard to find parts etc. If you dont have the patience, time, money or the skills/know how to do that, a newer car may be the right one for you. You can buy a EFI modernish car for the same amount that our older zeds are fetching these days. At the end of the day, know what you are getting into and dont kid yourself that an old car is going to be all apples from day one. Personally I prefer a new car for day to day commuting but when it comes to the weekend there is nothing like getting into a classic sports car.

Umm Hi Hi
Hi All, I have sold one of my three 240Z and now I am back down to just having the two. The RB26 car still sits in the garage waiting for money and motivation to be thrown at it. But since its not at my place its hard to do any work to it. Looking to buy another Ozzy delivered R32 GTR at the moment since I stupidly sold my previous one to put a deposit for the house. Biggest mistake I have ever done... So I have been searching for another ever since! 1 of 100 - I guess the odds are better then winning Lotto so its not too bad.

Sheet Metal Shrinking and Dent Bumping
Good info Enrique. Another tool that is similar in its use to the shrinking hammer is a "slapper" or "flat basterd" (terms made up by Ozzy panel beaters..) Its nothing more than a metal file just over an inch wide that has been bent into sort of a Z shape. More like _____/------ type shape. The metal file grooves acts the same way as a shrinking hammer when used with a dolly with the same technique that Enrique described above. When I used to work in a smash repair shop I used that instead of a shrinking hammer but that was my personal preference. Cuong

Finally! on the road!
You cant use a fuel pump that is designed for EFI on carby engines. I think the ideal fuel pressure for carbies is around 4 psi if IIRC. Cuong
